Default Does everyone get these BIG number differences on different Dyno's

Just thought you G/Z guys would get a kick out of this......

I was invited to a Corvette Club Time attack event this past Sunday. Came first in the Modified bracket by 8 seconds. One of the ZO6 guys protested my win. So they sent my car to the garage for inspection They were looking for some injection kit ( NOS ),because one of the flag guys said he heard spraying sounds on the back straight THAT WAS THE BOV They asked me AGAIN how much HP... I told them 444rwhp ( because thats what Sharif got on the DD dyno with controller off and 501 @ 14.5 psi). They protested again and said it had more. They hooked it up to the Dyno and to my fing surprise 558 rwhp at 564 tq @ 14.5 psi, But I ran it at 11psi. They disqualified me on the spot I called Sharif a few seconds later, because I wanted to know if they are trying to screw me out of a win But Sharif said it sounds about right. They want to disconnect my Boost Control and for me to repeat the runs.... or run in the Open Class with the Race prepped race cars...Yeah right it aint worth $3000 and a trophy for me to let them disconnect anything on my car.

Has any one else gotten the kind of Dyno differences

I did...420rwhp on the ZO6.....thats why they DQ'ed me. That bracket was up to 450rwhp and then you have open class...450 and above.I was pissed, because I burned up my street tires for nothing

Thats what I was saying Its their event....so I guess thats why they can act like that. Everyone in that bracket had to use street compound....I would hate to see how they would act if I ran it on race compound.

edit: ps: I think the real reason behind this was there was a rumor that I was using NOS (because they heard the BOV), and thats when people started to complain!

The ones that protested dynod their cars.... First was a 2006 ZO6 ( the one with the brake duct infront of the rear wheel) Dyno in the 420's...and the older model ZO6 dynod higher (had mods) 440's or somewhere around that.

They found it during inspection.... but I had it off. I was not going to run 14.5 psi's on a new motor around that size of a track on a 100 degree day. I am not that crazy.

You should have complained about the c6 z06's ~500lb weight advantage.

As I mentioned in the other thread, the difference seems about right if it was a Dynojet.

I'm not quite following how you dynoed at 558@14.5 psi. Did you raise the boost for the dyno run or did you run the race at 14.5psi? Just curious.

IIRC, his high boost tune on my dyno was a little over 500whp...so 558whp on the DJ also seems in the ball park.

XKR, I can't wait to see what your car does with a proper track setup.

you were running at low boost, which should have been abour 450 on a dynojet, but they dyno'd you in the high boost setting which netted 5xx?

that is lame, but no way to prove it. if you were running high boost that would make sense that you could beat a Z06 with comparable hp on a road course.... seems weird to me as well.

The low boost was 440whp'ish on our DD, so that would have been about 500whp on the DJ. Either way, it was a lame excuse to take away his trophy, and his prize money.

XKR, did they make you do the DJ with low boost AND high boost?

Motormouth.........Sharif beat me to it. They Dynod me at low boost which is 507 on their dyno and 444 on Sharif's dyno. Which still DQ's me. because 450 is the cut off for that bracket with their dyno numbers. They would not take my word for it that I had the boost off...so thats why they dynod with it on also @558 and thats the number they DQed me at...and the Corvette guys were out for blood....because there is no way in hell a G35 can beat a ZO6 no matter who is driving unless someone cheated. They had to save face.

Makes sense now Mike. Tell me you did this with your 20" Maya wheels too?

It also seems like that 06 Z06 dyno was low.

next time put a duck call on your BOV... this way, there is no mistaking it for NOS...
