Default Turbonetics fuel pump mod

So I installed a Walbro 255 to replace my in tank pump...how necessary is the Turbonetics fuel pump mod (drill stock FPR, remove yellow piece, and drill holes in fuel pump basket)? I just wanted to see what would be bad if I didn't.

My setup is Vortech w/ 3.12, 440 injectors, walbro 255. No fuel return system.

From my understanding and what was done to my car. You need to drill the FPR and remove the yellow fuel nozzle. I really can't remember as of now, but I thought you had to drill the fuel nozzel a little also. I'd get a second opinion on that. So far as the fuel housing, you don't need to drill holes in it. That has been dicussed many times here why not to. But I'm not the one to be able to tell you why not. I know just not to do it.

You do need to drill the FPR for sure however phunk has said that you should drill the yellow jet and not drill the cannister. I have never had an issue with mine drilled per the instructions but phunk knows a lot more about fuel systems then I do.
