Just got me an 03 350z about 6 months. Car drives well but recently I've been wanting more power out it. I have a pop charger, exhaust, and a aam spacer and I think only a good solid FI kit will fill my needs. I know I want to go turbo, and the APS and turbonetics kit are my top choices. I know alot of people have the turbonetics kit as its the cheapest and comes from a highly reputable company but I'm also interested in the APS. I have a friend with the turbonetics kit and so far the kit has performed its job. I really like the kit but I want to hear from you guys before I make the decision.

 

People here will tell you to go with whichever brand they sell or own.

Do some searching and make up your own mind.

if you have to ask which one, you haven't done enough research. I hate to even say which one I recommend and why because things will get out of control quickly. PM me if you have specific questions

 

whatever will suit you...I want to go with a single turbo instead of the twins because the single is enough for me, thats why I would want the turbonetics...now, if you want the twin dong of power you should go with the APS

Haha. I know it was a little vague but I'm kinda new with the z. I'm leaning towards the turbonetics as I know its a great and reliable kit but I just wanted to know from others people of their experiences with the APS such as issues with engine problems, install and etc.

 

They would already be going out of control if I cared enough to argue what you just implied.

I actually hope more people buy APS ST kits. Variety is good for the community, and with only 3-4 owners on this forum I forget it exists sometimes.

Hmmm~~~ APS also has a single turbo kit.......................... So he has two single turbo kits to choose from.. You make it sound like there is only TN kit for a single setup...

 

I absolutely loved mine except for the oil pump issue. I got that sorted out though..
I'm not gonna get into why I went with APS ST instead of TN, because I don't want to start another flame war on the issue. There are plenty of threads about this as others have said. So.... SEARCH~

 

TN kit is much better than the aps kit...no questions asked

Thats why I started this thread. Both kits cost about the same and both claims similar gains in power. But for some reason everybody rocks out the turrbonetics kit?

dude, i was being sarcastic do a search and you will find countless threads. I went with TN kit and if i could go back i would wait and go with greddy or jwt. here is a tn crowd. 350zmotoring.com is an aps crowd.

I think it's safe to say that both kits have some "quirks" that need to be addressed. TN has had seal issues and downpipe constraints as far as power potential. The APS has boost spike issues due the OEM internal wg setup, as well as oil pump issues due to a slightly inadequate pump. The TN offers a reflash for tuning while the APS offers a piggy back solution. Both are OK at best...

All of the issues associated with either kit can and have been addressed and resolved by various users and tuners over the past few years. Both kits have been proven to produce mid-400 whp levels with minimal modification to the boxed setup.

That said make your own decision, do your research, and be sure you go with a kit that your installer / tuner is comfortable with. If your doing your own install / tune, then rely on what you've learned and take the plunge.

Or............... you could always wait a bit for the PowerLab and TN Stage II if you're looking for a little more power.
