Coolant overflow, again?
Hey guys, anyone with the APS TT have any problems with the overflow coolant tank overflowing. Mine did it again but it does it when the car is stopped and not moving and even when the car was just turned off.
The day was super hot, any thoughts.WTF
it does not do this when the car is moving and temps stay normal

Get a bigger overflow tank? The APS one is pretty small, alot smaller than OEM. Higher temp radiator cap also? Also you might try purging the coolant system, you could have an air pocket hidden in there somewhere.

Your car may run 100% fine for days on end, but you will have reoccuring issues like we see here. Just be prepared for replacing the headgaskets in the not too distant future

these are exactly the symptoms I was seeing with my car
I had the exact same problem with my greddy setup, it turned out to be my aftermarket greddy radiator cap, it was opening prematurely, I put the stock cap back on and had no problems. I suggest flushing the system and putting the stock cap back on and i'll bet the problem goes away.
I didn´t have any overheating problem with my engine , and have the same problem with the overflow coolant tank , after a long ride or in a hot day, the tank is overflowing, but this only happen, when the car was just turned off.I´m tired of the small aps overflow tank..........

thats exactly what i am going through......
I have an APS TT on a built motor and the bottom line is that
the tank is TOO small and the fact that the electric fans trigger
too late. With the air con on, one fan runs as long as it is on and
will help some. I needed extra cooling anyway, so I bought one of
Forged Performance's fans and shroud kit, and trigger the fans at a
lower temp. It fixed the problem and the car runs cool. One benefit
of this is the fan or fans make enough noise, that I don't hear my clutch
and transmission rattle at idle anymore. Just kidding on that part, but
the fan kit is great.

anytime you loose water out of the overflow and it is enough to spill out the tank, the rad will suck back in just as much fluid as it spit out when it cools. if you get any fluid on the ground, and do not replace it, you will eventually suck in air.
i found a polished stainless steel overflow tank for cheap (like $30) and it is a 3" round tube that is about 14" long. holds quite abit of fluid and will fit right down the side of the rad. holds more than any tank i have seen on our cars.
+1 on replacing your rad cap first. i had a 16# one and kept loosing fluid alot. i tested it and it would open as soon as 3#!!! i now have a 22-24# cap and have not had a prob.
