I would say AAM is a GREAT shop IF they give me a set of Volk LE37T's with tires for free.....Ill install it myself though. Theyll probably charge me $$$ for mounting and balancing and then end up breaking my wheel studs and charge me an arm and leg for it.

Wow, can't say I'm shocked. I called this over 3 years ago. Not much has changed with this shop heh.

I remember when I had my Z with a Procharger on it, I told him to tune it rich because FI was so new to this car back then, no one knew much. I got my car back after delays on their end and it blew within a day. I finally got a hold of the dyno sheet and it wasn't rich, she was pretty lean and the tune was all over the place. I decided to let them build my motor because they were willing to work things out with me, so we had to order custom rods and pistons as nothing was avail back then. Months later, nothing was done, no calls, no updates, no movement on my car. I decided to pay them a visit with a trailer, and loaded the car on it. Mike's dad wasn't happy (Mike was at Sema), and promptly called the police on me and they issued a warrant out for my arrest, stating that I owed them like $5-$6k for work they didn't do.

These guys are scum.

You know, I ordered a plenum spacer through them, and that seems to be the only thing they gave me that seemed to work... and i only got it cause it was the biggest one available that still let me keep my stock strut bar. So I had this bright idea of having them also tune my car like technosquare does... only they don't quite do it like technosquare cause while my car gets better gas mileage... I swear my car has no more low end power, it's just quieter, and the top end feels just the same as before.

Granted, I have a cold air/ram air style intake, that spacer, race headers, test pipes, and true duals... you'd think my car might have gotten a little get up and go... but I can't even spin em off a line with just pushin down the pedal like most of these other guys out here can on the stock tune with the same crap done or less.

I am afraid to hook up a wideband to my car for fear of the single digit numbers that lie ahead...

WELL....I HAVE NOT RECIEVED AN EMAIL NOR A PM FROM EITHER OF THEM SINCE . THE OTHER THREAD WAS CLOSED -DELETED OR BOTH . SEEMS THEY JUST WANTED TO POST THAT THEY WOULD FIX THINGS TO IMPROVE THIER IMAGE BUT NEVER DO A DAM THING TO MAKE IT RIGHT WITH ANY OF US . HAS ANY ONE RECIEVED ANYTHING PROMISED BY AAM ?
I started another thread in the Mid Atlantic section . Clint responded and lines of comunication have started up again . I hope comunications continue and thing get resolved

You guys ever see a show called Tuner Transformation... AAM was on it, "resident 350z expert Mike from Altered Atmosphere"... after a procharger kit with intercooler, nismo full exhaust, and his amazing tuning capabilities, he got a whole close to 350 horses and 305ft lbs of torque... basically waht the procharger gets out of the box... my naive self thought that was amazing... till i started reading these boards.

I sent an e-mail to Mike describing how AAM stuck me with an approx $1000.0 for there screw ups and he sends a response stating past employees that were the problem have been replaced...Nothing about making me "whole " like offering something in exchange or future work for me wasting $$$. Mind you this after having spent approx $5/6 k for work at there shop..Great customer service.

Honestly every customer I have ever dealth with while employed at altered has become a great friend of mine (ask brent, toby, ryan, kelly etc...) because i was honest and upfront with them....so if you ask any of altered's big ticket customers who screwed up their installs/invoices I highly doubt their reply would be "employee screw-ups"....

I love that response....out of good taste i choose to keep my mouth shut about things.....but I just love when people make it seem as if it was the employee's fault when mike had 100% control of all invoices all of the time....

Seriously... no matter how great the price is, people will always go to the place with better customer satisfaction and better history behind the company. Unfortunately, horror stories constantly arise. Shame is, I don't know of any other 350z people over in on the east coast that aren't like 10 hour drives away... but if that is what it takes, I'd do it just so that my car is in the hands of someone I can trust.

Quality over convenience IMO. I went the ladder route once and learned that no matter how much homework you think you've done, you should ALWAYS dig deeper to get the full story.

FWIW - I'm sure that AAM will probably produce some very nice engine builds in the months to come, but it's a shame that their rep is what it is right now. IMHO, they've got a long uphill push in front of them if they want to continue to make strides in the VQ community.

I rather take my car down to the Exxon Gas station down the street to do my work
No really I trust them with all my cars and never had a problem. In exchange for $$$ I just provide them with All the parts they need at a very low price.

because most people who buy a car to mod, usually spend more time looking for a "reputable" shop to do whatever mod they have done, instead of spending the time necessary to research the shop before dumping a few months salary down the drain
