RevUp Vortech Installation - Joining the ranks of FI
Well, we are back. The Z has been to Planet Houston (SGP Racing) and Mark and Thomas have performed miracles in tuning the ECU and UTEC. Mark utilized the Osiris Pro Tuner software to make the ECU work with the UTEC and minimize the problems others have been discussing (UTEC with Vortech with RevUp......harsh shifts, rough idle, etc.). Further, they spent quite a bit of time smoothing out the nuances of the RevUp tuning (variable intake AND exhaust timing) and the dyno sheets prove it. Notice the near linear final HP graph (the one in green) and near perfectly flat Torque graph, both perfect all the way to the rev-limiter.
Now, before the 'number guys' flame us for 'low numbers', bear in mind that this is on a DynaPack Chassis Dynamometer (you know, bolted straight to the rear hubs, no rubber-to-rubber interface) and our goal here was to extract as much useful STREET power in a reliable/rugged daily driver. Regardless, we picked the car up at SGP in Houston and set out on a 200-300 mile road trip to 'settle in' our baby. Along the way we distressed a wannabe in a Mustang GT (quite the confused look on his face) and got stopped once by Mr. LEO (Law Enforcement Officer, who turned out to be a 'car guy' and let us proceed unmolested once he ascertained 'is that an intercooler up front?' was actually a 'charge cooler' hooked to a Vortech).
It always pays to maintain a sunny disposition and carry a BIG STICK ! ! !
Needless to say, we are very pleased with our final result and highly recommend the Vortech (with our 'little upgrades') AND A QUALITY TUNE ! Thanks again to the consummate professionals at SGP Racing ('Performance, not promises') who made the final process the easiest of all.
Now, about that twin turbo on my G35, Mark, and Thomas I am going to need your magic touch on the automatic tranny, so......

By the way, Jay Z, which battalion and company do the Dyno numbers place us in. I spent too many years in Covert Ops (Alconbury, England, U2, Pave-Low, etc.) and want a transfer to a training post with lots of time NOT being shot at.

Jeremy, I am hurt, you don't remember our pleasant conversations on the phone .........it's MRS. Jax who has done this write-up.
Okay, okay, Phil did help, but I am the one with the literary aspirations in the family. And, yes, we thought credit was definitely due to you and all of the great folks who helped out with this extraordinary project. I hope our presentation of the build was clear and accurate (so others might be encouraged to join the ranks of FI) and maybe a little bit entertaining. Thanks, once again, it would not have been possible without your help.

We are going to get the Innovate gauge hooked up to the MAP sensor in the next few days (just one of several small items remaining on the to-do list for this project......damn work keeps interfering) and then we will have instant feed-back every time we start the car up.

BTW, that power curve is so smooth and linear. Congrats!

And for all those thinking of FI in general, and the Vortech, in particular, you would be well advised to call Jeremy first. (let's see, that's one thread with multiple glowing [and well-earned] reviews, that should be worth 5% off when I go twin turbo on my G35. Whatta ya say, Jeremy?)
