Default reliability on vortech??

Hey guys, looking to go FI soon. I've had my mind set on going with the Vortech SC kit. My Z will be a daily driver (50 miles a day). How reliable will my car be after I go FI? I know it all depends on the install and tune, which is why I plan on going to Jeremy at Performance Factory. I just don't want to lose much reliability because I need the car for everyday use. Ive seen on here lately that there have been many complaints about vortech SC going bad one way or another. If anyone could shine some light on this subject it'd be much appreciated. thanks

your engine should hold, but the blower may not.

The newer guys seem to be having Blower issues lately. Some of the older Vortech guys are doing just fine

I have had mine for well over a year. Car is not daily driven but I do have over 10k miles on the blower. No problems with anything at all other than my blower being loud.

There are reasons why vehicle manufacturers don't install many superchargers OEM..............they have a hard time making 99.99% of units last 3 years/36k, much less 6 years/70k.

It seems it really doesnt make a difference if its a Supercharger or a Turbo . If you pay attention to the threads on this forum . Both have units go bad just after they have been installed . It seems like seals like to go bad in both a SC and a turbo . Just stuff we have to deal with when using power adders .

True, but mercedes reinforces Q45's point. One of the reasons they quit using Supercharged engines in the AMG cars was because of reliability issues. A friend of the family has two supercharged AMG cars and both of them have been in for service on multiple occasions for supercharger related issues.

Seems like latey vortech has had some quality issues. I hear that the Stillen stage 1 and 2 are suppose to be geared FOR reliability. Might want to check them out. I wish they had one for 07's :-(

How many of these failed units are self-installed? This may play a factor.

Just because someone rents a space and opens a shop doesn't mean they do good work. Please step away from the crack pipe.
