Default $3795 -> Stillen Supercharger -> 354HP@6,000rpm

Sorry if this is old news, but...

The Stillen Supercharger is on sale on the Stillen website for $3795 (that probably does NOT include the hood. Is the hood still neccessary, anyone?).

There is a 354HP@6,000rpm number there. I don't know if that is wheel or flywheel. If it is wheel, than thats kick ***.

Anyone have more info on this????

peace

I'll have to investigate this when I go to the Stillen Z Meet.

Go to the Sport Z Magazine and click:
http://www.sportzmagazine.com/Z_Home.html

BTW, Sport Z will be test-driving the Stillin 350Z in mid June; the feature article will appear in the fall issue. When the complete data is available, we'll put it up on our www for everybody to see.

As it stands now, Sport Z will publish the stats before anybody else in the car mag industry.

The Stillin 350Z pushes 370 HP. We're going to try and verify Stillen's number and post the results in mid June [if everything goes as scheduled].

Default Here is the info for Stillen Meet.

I am thinking about going to the Stillen Meet. I don't have a 350Z yet, but I'm thinking this might be my next car (the convertible version or track model).

Here is the info.

No, you don't "need" the hood. Stillen is making a hood scoop as well. I haven't seen any pics though. Here's the article

But I think it's an estimate cause I doubt Stillen actually took the time to dyno it at the crank.
I doubt $tealin ever dynoed it, because we still havnt seen one.

I hear ya on that. How many times are we going to hear the name of a supposed 'released product' when no one has it and no one has details?

These companies need to stop BSing everyone and either put up the info and solid release dates or don't even try at all. I'm not about to blow $4000 on a product with shady details. Especially from a company like Stillen that has worse customer service than a plumbing parts store.

Yes Stillen is a bit late with the final details; believe me, they're being very careful here. The dyno results are about 2 weeks out and Sport Z Magazine will announce them and post them on our web page the day we have the numbers.

In a phone call with the powers-to-be at Stillen, I believe I got to the core on this $tealin thing. From what I've been able to learn, the genesis of $tealin was blown a bit out of proportion. Now I'm not trying to act in their defense, that's not why I'm sticking my neck out here; I'm just saying that you might want to cut them a little slack and take your grievances directly to Alex Cates for resolution.

Yes I know of the BBB and the complaints, but who amoung us with our own business haven't dropped the ball upon occasion. If you could see the emails and "announcements" regarding Sport Z Magazine when we decided to launch the new mag, you would be stunned to see the "hate" from the subscribers who were once ripped off by the old/defunct Z Car Magazine [Z Car and Classic Datsun]. They ASSUMED we were they and it took over a year to convince them otherwise.

Sport Z Magazine will be driving the Stillen 350Z in June and our race driver/writer [dkmura] will kick it and we'll be monitoring and analyzing the data for publication. BTW, we'll have an interview with Steve Millen and this $tillen thing will be addressed. Oh yeah, if we can manage it, will video tape the whole thing [taping is not a certainty -- we'll need a lot of editing help to make this happen]. Stay tuned!

In closing, if Stillen does not follow through with their commitments to Sport Z, I'll publish it for the world to see. If they live up to their agreements and address their previous customer service issues, as Z car lovers -- lets give them a chance.

Bob

BTW, the summer issue of Sport Z went out in the mail last Friday [May 23rd.]. For those of you who are subscribers, lets hope the USPS gets them home soon.

I don't know why people have a problem with Stillen. Sure, they have pretty pushy sales reps that try to sell to you instead of identifying needs, but I've ordered springs and an exhaust and received both on time.

Stillen doesn't have the best reputation for their supercharger kits. For the supercharger kit for the Maxima it's not uncommon to hear about brakects that need to be modified to fit, missing parts, and less than ideal service for spending such a large amount of money. And god help you should the supercharger fail under normal use.

Hopefully the extra time Stillen is taking with the 350z supercharger kit will lead to a more thorough and well designed kit.

If we can't get dyno reports on the Stillen exhaust, then why should we expect honest pricing or dyno reports for the supercharger.
You untrusting souls should be grateful that Stillen is willing to take your money. How dare any of us have the audacity to request proof a performance upgrade's capability.

I was told that a dyno report will not be made available, and I should trust Stillen's reputation as good enough proof. No Thanks.

And we should trust you why? Because you blatantly accuse Stillen of practices because you don't like them as a company? If I did that, then I wouldn't own anything.

Look, I'm not saying that Stillen is the world's finest company, but in my dealings with them, I had no problems with them. If you want proof, you can always buy the product and put the car on the dyno. Have you asked Borla and Injen for dyno sheets? Will they provide them? If they did, then no one around here would be asking for dyno tests.

If Stillen pulls a con job on Sport Z Magazine, I'll join in on your pessimism in a heart beat. Stillen is an advertiser with Sport Z but I'll get in their face big-time if they don't live up to their end of the bargin. My agreement with Stillen definitely includes dyno results as well as full access to their 350Z.

As soon as all the details become available, you'll see them first on the Sport Z web site. I'm certainly not suggesting that everybody should just forgive and forget; what I am suggesting is backing off for a while and give us [Sport Z] a chance to see if they're serious about their new products for the 350Z.

simstad, you may have no reason to trust Sport Z Magazine but thousands of our readers do; they know that my word is solid and I have no patience with liars. If Stillen were to drop the ball, I'll report the facts exactly as they occur.
