Default APEXI AVCR Speed signal consistency

Hi all. Can u please guide me through proper wire tapping for obtaining speed signal to AVCR?
I have used the white cable running from the unified meter (terminal 26) to tripple meter (terminal 20) This is the speed signal which is a square type wave form 0~12v, with a wave length of 20ms.
By the time I did that the meters become unstable and gauge jump up and down. Both readings on the tripple meter and on multi display present the same attitude. I immediately disconnected in order not to burn anything. It sounds like a grounding problem. Any ideas? Is it OK to take the signal directly from a wheel sensor?

Nope still no lack. It seems that the signal is too strong for APEXi. The 12V that is producing is giving grounding problems. I am trying to figure out a solution by using a line resistor in order to lower the produced voltage.
