Default Just installed Vortech Supercharger

and... WOW!!!!!!!

The install took a long time but there was nothing really "hard" about it...

I feel paranoid about using wot until I get it tuned even though it should be okay...

My ECU is tuned by technosquare for N/A applications so I need to go have it detuned, but I put in 96 octane for now and it seems to be running fine... I feel paranoid about using wot until I get it tuned even though it should be okay...

I contacted Split Second since they're located in Irvine and I'm gonna have them tune my ecu since they're the ones who made it they have to know how to tune it well.. Right??

Well Just thought I'd submit my review which is a 10. My gas mileage is soaring down because I love the sound of the bov... It's totally worth it, what an awesome toy.

Did I mention I bought the supercharger from a guy in Newport Beach for $2200 polished with all parts... Plus, the supercharger was acting up when he took it out so he sent it in and vortech rebuilt the whole thing so it's pretty much new... The guy I bought it from was 68!!

If his ECU is flashed by technosquare and does not switch maps or adapt as the stock ECU does, then a tune using a piggyback might be ok. I would check with technosquare...

i personally dont like the fact of raising the PSI on the fuel system to ungodly levels and forcing the stock injectors to keep up. the SS box is a very simple effective tool it self, its the FMU that comes hand in hand with it that i dont like.

ZERO issues so far. only for stock blocks though. we have a couple with built motors but i try to make sure they get RFS when they do a build for safety reasons.

Cool...it seems to be a very good option for the Vortech and single turbo guys not wanting to push it to its limits .

booger, i suggest you go read the forum sticky about FI behavior. No need to make personal attacks against a shop.

i know, i was laughing cause there is no way you can take that wrong unless you add in a lot of extra words.

in that case, maybe YOU should read the FI rules there Chris

because theres a lot of negative discussion against PF about not using a RFS with vortech kits. It came across to me as if emphasis was put on STILL in your first sentence and then your second sentence came about a bit sarcastic somewhat.

sry for the confusion if thats not what you meant by it. No nuthugging here, see the sig.

Maybe Jeremy can comment on this , but I dont really think you need to have technosquare flash your tune back to stock . If they advanced the timing 2 degree's and you know it . When you have the SS box tuned for your car . Just let the tuner know it so he can pull that extra timing back out in the SS box .

Either way...have fun and enjoy the car !

there was only a little bit of negative discussion a little while ago, we have well over 25 car stock blocks running this same setup now with zero issues.
