AAM Return setup/Walbro fuel pressure problem.
Hey fellas, I could use some of your input-especially those with a similar setup. I installed a TN kit in my 03 Z, Innovate W/B, UTEC, JWT clutch/flywheel, and intake and oil spacer along with the AAM fuel return setup with the billet rails. One man job, certainly took longer than expected-with more cuts on my hand than I can count. Anxious to start it up, I turned the key on, but the gauge did not show fuel pressure.
Per my search on this forum, my first guess was that I has a bad Walbro. However, I tested it out of the car, it flows great. It also turns on with ignition and crank(you can certainly hear it). The Z is not getting fuel to start. I followed AAM's routing instructions, fuel comes out the factory outlet on top of the fuel pump assy, through the line to the back of the rails. That is where it ends. The line coming from the front of the rails going to the right side of the Aeromotive Regulator opened, does not flow fuel.
My question is- could there possibly be a blockage somewhere in the rails or Y-connection? Or just weak/no pressure from the pump? I installed the pump correctly, could it be a pinched line on that flexible hose in the tank? Btw, I drilled the yellow swirl jet .070 per phunk's info.
-Sorry for the long post, not that experienced with fuel return issues, any input would be appreciated, thanks.

best thing to do is to take it all back out and start over, if you are sure the walbro is good.
make sure you have everything hooked up right and when you turn the key on , you hear the pump making a whine...

yeah, maybe a big duck flew into the rails when you werent looking too. i have seen that before..
if you dont figure it out though, just let us know what you find out and we can see if we can help you out the best as possible of typing on the internet

Thanks guys. Audible, you may be right. Guess I will have to take it out, and retrace my steps.
-Sharif, thanks. I, too, suspect something is up with the fuel pump assembly. I will have to check to see if the regulator bypass is properly seated and if the stock flexible hose is connected properly. I've heard that if that is damaged, it will affect flow. I didn't use the snap ring plier to take it off. I did drill that yellow jet with a 1/16 bit, so that should be ok. What kills me, is that I will probably have to wait until the weekend until I can work on it-due to my work schedule.
-BTW, anyone have a spare fuel sender float and circuit board? This was damaged in the install, the board attached to the fuel pump assy broke. I now cannot tell how much gas I have in the car. Looks like I might have to get the whole thing. I can paypal ya asap.
-0psi at fuel gauge, fuel doesn't get to the regulator, only up to back of rails-as far as I know.
