Default How to achieve this requirement?

Considering a project...

Requirement: make the 350Z faster than a z06.

High Level requirements:
* minimum low boost / safe 6:1 power to weight ratio

* maxiumum high boost / safe 4:1 power to weight ratio.

Detailed Level requirements:

* with your expert experience, please help me scope out the detailed cost / parts / tuner / builder analysis.

Thank you.

If it's a C5 Z06, then modest boost settings on a TT should do the trick (they dyno 330-360'ish) stock.

For a C6Z, gonna take a built motor to do it reliably. The C6 Z's are dynoing about ~450 to the wheels but have some good gearing and weight in their favor.

Personally, I think building a car to beat X car is a waste of time and money. There are far better reasons for making a car faster.

I was looking for something like:

Engine: 600HP = $x,000 / 800HP = $x,000

Transmission: = $x,000

Rear end: = $x,000

Considering a 6:1 p/w ratio, that means 600HP range.

Considering a 4:1 p/w ratio, that means 800HP range.

So I was hoping someone could break down the the package cost for such said HP figures.

Doin the research helps out alot in this area. It all depends on what you want it for... You can full gut the car CF every thing possible dropping the weight considerably. Look at the lotus, Lambo, ect. Small car, composite bodies, moddest power, and amazing handling.

What it comes down to when modding any car is knowing the platfor you are working with. It seems to mee you are wanting more of a turnkey application. Your asking for alot of detailed info of stuff you can get with a couple of hours of searching. If the project is that important to you, search and learn.

Well the thing you need to do is start asking vendors about the turn key product with your specs. What you are trying to do is ask people for their opinion on the experience with the kits they work with.

Research and ye shall find thine answer.

for the money it will cost you, you may want to just consider getting a slightly used C6 Z06 for not too much more than a built TT Z will cost you. Throw some long tubes, heads, and cams on the Z06 for a few grand extra and you will dominate everything and still be NA.

To do everything properly for those power levels on a Z i would expect to fork out about 20K when all is said and done, possible even more...especially WHEN stuff starts breaking and leaking, not IF but WHEN

Bascially you will need to need to completely build your motor and slap on a TT kit. You will need to upgrade a lot of parts on the car to then be able to handle the power that you are adding to the Z. It will take a lot of time, money and patience for this.

What do you mean by "faster?" Is it 1/4 mile, road race, or 60-130mph run faster? This will have an impact on how you build it and how much you spend.

Once that is defined, IMHO I would contact a few tuners on this forum such as Forged Performance, Performance Factory, MRC, GTM, etc. and get their opinion on what is required and the est. cost.

Also, once you get it faster, remember it's gonna cost money and time to keep it faster.

Good luck!

I like the Z06 for what it represents, but would rather boost up a 350Z to be a little uniqeue and unsuspecting.

I guess I am looking for an 800hp range semi daily driver.

It's either that or scrap the 350Z and get the Z06 (and all that hill billy hoopla steretype that comes with Corvettes and domestic V8s).

800 hp is a nice number, putting that down to the ground in a Z on the street will be almost impossible. we can build anything you like to suit your needs. you could beat up on a C6 Z06 with 600 whp.
