No reason, they just said if I wanted the extreme kit parts I had to buy the extreme kit.

Did you just try to buy the external wastegate pipes or did you attempt to buy more stuff?

I've already tried going down this route before. I emailed GRD, where I bought my kit from, and asked them about buying the extreme parts. Irshad tells me APS won't sell any of the parts individually. I replied...What if I had the extreme kit and something broke? I have to buy the whole kit again?...I never got a reply. APS are a bunch of azz clowns.

Yeeep they sent me this email:

Hi Aaron,
Unfortunately we do not sell the external gates separately, these are however flanges just to suit the normal TIAL flange.

Best regards,
Ben Shaw,
APS Engineernig

so I guess I could have some custom pipes made with a tial flange... but thats a complete pain in the ***. I just emailed Peter (head engineer I believe) at APS, maybe he will give me a different reply.. but I doubt it. Looks like forge actuator time. The labor involved with replacing is going to be a huge *****. I wonder why they wont sell seperately it is so rediculous.. I was thinking about what if something broke on the extreme kit, just like you where Nismo350ZRT, rediculous..

Well, looks like im going to get forge actuators unless I get a different reply tommorow. What preload would you guys suggest if im getting the 5-10 psi springs? I would prefer less rather then more base boost, because my target is only 8-9psi. I will let the boost controller do the rest.

APS will support current owners of kits. You are looking for parts that are not associated with your kit. That said, if you get in an accident, for example, and need parts; at a certain point it is going to be more cost effective to buy a new kit vs buying piece by piece. Replacement of a piece of piping, manifold, etc is almost unheard of on the APS kits. Things like FPRs for their fuel systems, fuel pumps, sump pumps, even the turbos, can be purchased/repaired without going through APS if the need comes. These are about the only type pieces I would expect a person to really ever need.

As far as preload, go with the yellow springs and preload to at least 1/2, if not 1 hole preload

I have the normal aps tt kit and fitted tial 38mm EWG to it. No big deal at all. They are used for the extreme kit.

Good luck

I had the yellow springs earlier this year and with 2.5 inch exhaust you'll only see about 6.5-7psi on spring pressure and I maxed out my boost controller @ 13psi.

How did you go about doing that? You had to get some custom piping made and weld the Tial flange to it?

Please do tell, if this is easily done I think it's something alot of APS owners would like to find out.

Must have just had pipes made to fit the exhaust manifolds (the newer ones with the hole for the ewg's) and then bought the tial flanges and welded them on to the pipes.

I would do that but it is a lot of effort.

quick question, what is the best way to swap the actuators out? The LHS should be easy to access with the downpipes off, but for the RHS one do I just take off the alternator and jack the motor up a bit?

Thank you for the help,
Aaron

I had a little luck. When I bought the aps tt kit, I got the manifolds from the extreme kit, so with the holes for the EWG. I just welded 2 tubes for the tial 38mm ewg, screwed them on the 3.5" APS DP and the manifolds. Very easy. It
was an hour work. You need to be sure that the tubes clear the gearbox.

how did you attach the tubes to the manifold? I also have the extreme kit manifolds. I spoke with peter from aps and he actually will sell me the ewg's but its well over 1k so im going to just go with the forged actuators for now until I decide to build my motor and run higher boost.

1k??? just buy 2 tial 38mm EWG. They are the same. APS just asks more for them, a lot more. I used the flangles that are used to shut the holes for the EWG on the 3.5"
dp and the hole in the manifold. Those pieces that shut the holes for a normal tt kit, have the ideal sizes for the tubes. So I copied those flangles to make new that I welded on the tubes, then you can screw them on the EWG and the manifolds. I hope you understand my bad english

yes I know, they basically overcharge for the piping. Yea I was thinking to use the plates that shut the EWG holes if I was to go that route.. but maybe later down the road. It is a bit overkill at 8psi, as mentioned above

I only did it for my built engine, so... Higher boost requires better wastegates . Good luck
