I want to purchase the APS 440cc injectors for my Vortech kit but I'm not sure if they'll be enough for my 400whp goals. As jeremy said, the vortech kits aren't measure the same way as turbo kits as far as injectors go.

So will my Vortech kit at 9psi be too much for the 440cc injectors and Walbro alone? Will I be maxing em out?

my non expert opinion is that you will be fine... I would suggest you try to get the full base APS fuel system along with those injectors

It depends on who's injectors they are. RC injectors are rated a 3 BAR of pressure. Deatsch Werks are rated a 3.5 BAR. 3 BAR is the industry standard. 3.5 BAR is the 350Z fuel pressure. RC 440's are true 440's. Deatsch Werks 440's are really 400's. Recently Deatsch Werks started rating the injectors @ 3 BAR as well to add more confusion to all this

So if they are RC they are good for approx 420-440whp with stock fuel pressure. If they are Deatsch Werks they are good for approx 380-400 at stock fuel pressures.

In the past we (DeatschWerks) have rated our 350z injectors at 3.5 bar because that is the stock fuel pressure. But with our recent over haul of our VQ35 product line, switching from OEM cores to brand new Denso cores, we also switched back to 3bar like the rest of our applications. We used 3.5 bar because we thought it would make thing easier since that is the stock fuel pressure, but it really caused more confusion.

Our line up now consists of all Denso injectors rated at 3bar

440cc
600cc
850cc

custom sizes also available

Hope this helps

APS are also rated at 3 BAR. So whatever the flow rate says is the who you can expect.

So the sumation for flow rates @ stock fuel pressure and what power you can expect....

APS: As Advertised
RC: As Advertised
Deatschwerks Denso Core NEW*: As Advertised
Deatschwerks OEM cores: 550 (480-500whp), 440 (380-400whp), 650 (580-600) approx. at stock fuel pressure.

APS uses a bosch design 3 EV1 plug injector and flows 440cc at 3bar IIRC. We have had a few sets in house. They are not RC's. They are an OEM injector for a different car that happens to have a decent OEM flow rate.

I'm gonna give a shot at running just the 440cc injectors and the walbro with my 9psi pulley to see if it will run lean up top. If it does I'll switch to the 7psi pulley. Unless you guys think this is really ill advised from the get go.

I'm also debating on running the Vortech FMU to try and keep the fuel pressure near redline higher. Would the Vortech FMU do the trick?

Gimme some input guys!

even with people making over 400hp with these injectors, the question i still have is how much can a stock block handle? my tuner got 383hp 416tq on a dyno pak @8psi. of boost with a return system.

Thats a totally different topic bro. A search will tell you different things. A good tune can net you a somewhat safe 400+ rwhp if I'm not mistaken. A shop on here even pushed it to 5xx rwhp before it popped.

But back to my question!

Before installing a RFS I was running RC440's plus a walbro and the Vortech FMU/Aux fuel pump...The fuel pressure at idle was 80psi and at WOT it went up to 100psi when the FMU/Fuel pump kicked in at boost...I did not drill the Walbro as is recommended (Turbonetics install manual) which is why my FP was as high as it was...Still with this set up I had no fuel problems...I changed to the RFS because I wasn't comfy at these high FP's and I didn't like the Vortech fuel system...Reliability concern I had with it. Recent tune yielded 390 hp on a DJ...

Wow so its almost guaranteed that I'll run lean with the 9 lb pulley?

well supposedly supercharger setups require bigger injectors than turbo setups.
