Anyways, yeah, its been a long road, but I thought it was the right thing to do...all things considered. Too many people touched this car, and it makes no sense to try and point fingers. Everyone just stepped up to make this happen...and Larry will be back on the road in a few days time.

In regards to Devon and Chris, those are private matters, but I can tell you that Devon was homesick, and moved back home, and Chris no longer works here. We have two new technicians that are amazing, and we're nearly back up to full speed again. It just means that I have to spend more time in the shopping...getting dirtier. Thanks for the concern.

Thanks for hanging in there.

The coulntless FI threads I've read over the years...including this one. Shariff, you constantly suprise me w/ the amount of tact and reservation you exercise in diffusing potentially hamfull posts..It takes a lot of effort to run a shop, get the orders out, and on top of that..keep the peace as well...nice work.

so if gtm is godlike would this motor be a platypus?

Well you know in all fairness , wasnt it GTM a few months ago that was bashing BZM for the motor that Todd built for a customer and something went wrong with it ? BZM had to defend its self from the on slot of bashing from people on this site AND GTM . GTM stating what it thought what went wrong with the motor . Amazing how things change when the same thing happens to a shop that originally bashed another shop for a simular situation !!!!!!!!!!

This isn't a "who's to blame" witch hunt. The message here is with all the money and the best people working on the car sh*t happens. And when it goes wrong it get's expensive very very quickly. Even though the car is being fixed for free by Sharif I already payed Jeremy to do the work, and have had to rent a car for $1300 per month for 6 months now not to mention I haven't driven my car since April.

Now one of my mid pipes for my Greddy TT exhaust is missing and I imagine I will have to have one custom made which I will have to pay for. I don't think I can get another one from Greddy.

Damn son! For that price, to rent a car, I would have bought a civic for 1-2k then sold it!

The way I see it ....Having the best people working on your car is not the issue....too many people putting their hands on one car seems to be more like it. You see this time after time posted on here about 2 or 3 shops involved in one build and things going down hill.... Formula for desaster Hard to tell who to blame

I guess you are lucky you have GTM and FP involved with this...they are a few of the most honest shops around.

And yes...No matter who builds your car...something can go wrong....but chosing the best shops to do the work reduces the chances of a bad build. Also when these top shops (example: GTM, FP, MRC and PF)do the work and things go wrong ...they alway step up to the bat and fix the problem.

Sharif did my build...(Knock on wood) I have never had a problem to date...but I am confident that if I had a problem...he would fix it.

BTW...what kind of car did you rent for $1300a month? A lexus?....

Good Luck

I've been following your build and it has given me some comfort that I am not the only one in misery (misery loves company is so true). When your car rolled into Performance my car had already been there for several weeks. I don't have any custom fabrication either.

If it makes you feel any better this is your first go around. I went through your situation last year when I blew my first motor. This is the second time for me. So imagine having to do this again in 6 months.

I honestly couldn't do this one more time. I don't have the stomach or wallet for it.

i thought gtm charged so much money because they didnt make these mistakes?i cant believe i'm the only one to call bs on gtm when the justification for those prices was the claimed superior engine builds.i'm sorry for your loss jetpilot but gtm cannot get away with beating up smaller shops and calling them inferior when they have a motor shortly after fail twice...maybe thats why they charge double?perhaps gtm can join this thread and explain why jetpilot was expected to pay for shipping the second build back for repair?don't they have a warranty?jetpilot, you are too nice in this situation, they screwed up the first motor then sent you a damaged block the second time, sounds worse than the jasper horror stories i hear.you and sharif should recieve compensation for cleaning up gtm's mess.
