so I posted this in the intake and exhaust section, but wanted to get some FI opinions. I hacked up my injen intake to make a CAI for the vortech, but when I cleaned the filter i noticed a hole in it and found this at the local auto parts store. I have not been able to get much info on metal mesh style filters and their effectiveness.

Does anybody think the metal filters are a bad idea? And why?

 

they rust up eventually... and than that rust just gets sucked into the engine... kinda already had a kid with a honda come into my store that did that to his... i just laughed at him cuase it was a honda.
