Default turbonetics exhaust leak

I have had my turbonetics kit on for about three weeks and everything has been fine until yesterday. I'm not reaching full boost. I have a custom waste gate setup with a turbo smart wastegate with 7lb spring. Ever since yesterday i'm only reaching 4lbs of boost. I have noticed an audible exhaust leak that has gotten louder over the weeks. Can an exhaust leak make me loose half of my boost? I checked all my intercooler piping and all couplers are tight with no holes. Can this exhaust leak cause this much of a boost problem? I blew off a coupler the first week and this makes the car run almost the same as when that happen.

Default Your turbonects issue

The exhaust leak could be a result of the heavier waste gate. So far since I have had this kit I have had to get (A) new pipe from turbonectics or (B) weld over the crack. My next coarse of action is to get my kit Upgraded with the wet bearing housing and F-con with a Gt motorsports tune. I would like the GTM turbo spec cams. Call Gt motorsports. They can help you.

get yourself a length of hose.....large enough to fit snugly into your ear. use the other end to probe around all of the connections. you'll be able to hear the leak very well when the hose gets near the leak!

it will be easy to find, just jack the car up.

i fixed the exhaust leak to the best of my ability. I'm running a turbosmart wastegate with a 7lb spring today i was boosting about 5lbs. the next size spring that i have is a 10lb and i'm thinking of putting it in to see if i get closer to 7 or 8 lb. I tuned the car to a solid 10.5 afr on 5lbs but i also have a base tune for 8lbs.
