Default About How Long Does A Dyno Tune Take To Do

Hey guys Im in the process of putting on my vortech and I want to get it dyno tuned when Im done, does anyone know about how long it takes to do b/c its like 2 hrs from my house

depends on how capable/knowledgeable your tuner is and how well he knows your engine management and if he has to start from scratch or already has a somewhat close basemap.

typical vortech setup probably take an hour or two I'd think with the SS box. It's not as complicated to tune as a turbo or anything so it should be straightforward for them to do

As mentioned above, it really depends on the tuner/shop.

I had my UTEC tuned at Function:Tuned and Dave spent about 3 hours on it. A knowledgeable tuner should be able to tell you up front what's he's going to do and then explain at the end why it took X hours and what was done.

But with a custom setup, there is no way to predict problems or know the "what-ifs", so you might not know the amount of time before the process starts.

Most shops that specialize in Z's and G's will flat rate the tuning fee. So no matter how long it takes, you will pay one fee.
