Bov Fluttering
Ok, i've done a lot of searching about this so before you all pounch on me for posting a question that A LOT of people have already wrote about, let me explain. My Raptor BOV is fluttering, i've done everything that all the other threads have said to do, i've loosened/tightened the screw that goes into the end of the bov, i've even checked all the hoses for holes and things of that nature. No matter what i do, it continues to flutter. I took the Valve off and took it apart to regrease everything, put it back together and same thing happens. What i'm wondering is...how much boost do you really need for this bov to sound normal and let out a ptshhhh instead of a chchchchchch? I've read that this is really bad on the turbo so i want to fix it. The only hose i have connected to the BOV is the black tube running from the plenum...i Tee'd into it and that is going into the outside most(top)hole. The other hole(bottom) is open. If i were to connect that one to a line, where would that go? Thanks
You should be able to loosen the screw if it's truly fluttering because of compressor surge. Sometimes they just sound that way. I'm not really sure why sometimes, but different cars seem to sound different with the raptor. Mine was a solid whoosh noise but others I've heard have fluttered...
The only other variable could think of besides the unit itself and the nut to adjust spring pressure is the vaccuum line that's routed to the intake manifold.

I might have found what is wrong....I was looking and reading through the install and came across where is says to install a hose from the compressor housing to the wastegate...I looked at the compressor housing and there is indeed a fitting for a hose, however there is no hose connected to it. Now would that hose not being connected cause that problem. The hose is just not existing.

Cut approx. 2.5 feet of 5/32” vacuum hose (P/N 30542-BK), and route the hose from the upper intake plenum (port shown in FIGURE 103) to the blow-off valve fitting. Cut approx. 2.5 feet of the same hose, and route it from the fitting on the wastegate to the fitting on the compressor housing (installed in step# 60). Loosely zip tie the hose as desired. NOTE: The operation of these turbocharger control devices rely on these hoses for pneumatic signals, so do NOT pinch or crimp the hose in any way.
The highlighted is what i just went out to my car to check out. I can't see the wastegate end, but will put it on a lift tomorrow and see what is going on.

Did you ever figure this out?? I'm having the SAME exact issue with my TN kit... I can't hear ANYTHING coming out of my BOV.... Can you show a picture of the compressor housing going to the wastegate please!?!

You should get some video of the car so we can see/hear what you're talking about. I'd think that when you let off throttle the wastegate would close and the bov would open so you'd hear it fine, as I've experienced on other cars. You probably just need to adjust the wastegate preload spring.
I've also noticed that on thse forums, some people's raptor BoV's seem to just make a Whooosh noise (like mine), and some tend to flutter and chirp a bit more. I'm not sure if its a different in the part itself or just the spring adjustment...

Mine starts opening at 2psi, but even at that level I have no fluttereing sound. With that little pressure it actually sounds like someone letting out a sigh of relief. But no fluttering. I can't even tell u how mine is hooked up, I don't get it out of storage til next week and I don't remember how everything is hooked up.
You can easily hear how my raptor bov sounded in this video. This is on the stock motor, stock kit with reflash, plenum spacer, exhaust, and at 9.1psi. The car made 412whp.
