Default Just bought tt

I was wondering: I bought a Greddy TT kit for my G do i need a boost controller. I believe the wastesgates will hold 6-7 psi so it will not go over 6-7 psi and it will peak there and hold right so is there a need for a Boost conroller. I just see that if i install one there is more possible boost leaks.

You need a boost controller or heavier wastegate springs if you wish to raise the boost. A correctly installed boost controller will not make your setup more susceptible to boost leaks.

A boost controller (manual or electronic) will only let you increase boost over wastegate spring pressure. The main concern with a boost controller is user error. Overboost can be an issue if someone that's unfamiliar with the system attempts to adjust it.

Installing a boost controller will only give you the ability to turn boost up from base boost. Additional chance for leaks is minimal, as it only controls the wastegates.

You don't need one, but I can assure you that you will want one. If not now, in a month or two, when you realize that 5-6 lbs of boost isn't going to cut it.

Boost controllers are useful for other things besides raising boost. Electronic boost controllers have a boost gain control which allows you to controll spool up of the turbo by progressively opening the wastegate or instantly opening the wastegate as the desired boost level is reached.

A boost controler controls boost gain by holding the wastwegate closed as well as sending the signal to open. On spring pressure alone as boost builds the wastegate can be opened progressively by the exhaust pressure without any signal from the boost controller to hold it closed. This can slow spool up time of the turbo.

If you have a UTEC you can control boost with that.
