Default Is this a high quote from Stillen??

So i called Stillen today cause i'm thinking of upgrading my stage one SC to the stage two. They quoted me $1500. But if you subtract the difference between the stage one and two on their website it's only $1300 difference. I told the guy that and he said it's cause it's loose parts not in a kit all at once. But they put all their kits together for you at time of order. So i don't understand why putting all the intercooller pieces in a box, without a blower should cost me $200 more?? Am i being irrational?

LMFAO Doug, goddamn that was funny.

OP-this is only to ship the parts? It doesnt surprise me Stillen wants to pull a fast one on you. MY only advice is go to another Stillen dealer and try to pay the "fair" price....

My concern is the benifits of stage 4 vice stage 2 isnt worth the extra wear on the engine IMO. My choice of the Stillen for FI was the drivability of it, and no need to modify the engine in order to handle the extra HP. I'd like to have 150,000 on the engine and still be running strong. Assuming i keep it that long. It's not my DD and i don't get to the track much. But when i do take her outta the garage, it's a blast from light to light, and in the curves!

IMO if your going to upgrade at all may as well go stage 4. Especially if its not your DD! Ive driven a Stage 4 G35 and it was tons of fun to drive. Still very safe power levels should last you a while.

I'll do my research a little more. I'm also kinda enjoying going in steps. That way as i get bored and need more HP i can add a little at a time. Instead of blowing my load all at once and being maxed out.

Yea that was my old stage4 setup......you could probably find a few vendors out there that would custom make you the under blower i/c and the front heat exchanger and coolant pump, and coolant lines and relay and wiring to the fmu.I would think it would be rather expensive to go that way so just stick with stillen or another vendor to get it cheaper..........which you wont find as stillen controls there price.

Doing things in steps could be more $$$ in labor if your not doing the work. Trust me go to stage 4 and enjoy it. Good luck with it all...

I do all the labor, i love it!!! As most of us do. Thanks for all the replies!! Any other stillen vendors?? Mynismo.com has the stage 2 upgrade kit. But with their cheapest shipping, i still only save $15 vice from Stillen with free shipping.

Almost everything has an upgrade later penalty.

It is common to find things cheaper when you buy the kit all at once as opposed to upgrading later. Part of it is the vendor trying to make more money up front by getting people to buy the more expensive kit in the first place.

I wont say its right, but its what companies do, be it car parts, computer parts or whatever.
