Default Pulling the motor out?

I am in the process of putting a built motor in with my TT setup and had a question.

I am trying to find the easiest way to get my motor and trans out. I already have the whole front end off and took the radiator, I imagine I would just slide the whole motor out of the front.

My question is , should I just unmount the engine and lift the engine out or should i drop the whole engine with the steering rack as well, I have seen people do both and I wasnt sure which way was easier

and while we are at it, how the hell do you remove the skinny line to the AC condenser. I can remove the big line at the compressor but the skinny one goes all the way behind the firewall

any tips would be appreciated

Thanks

Real quick few tips so you don't have to go searching through a bunch of threads for some simple answers.

Pull the engine out the front since you already have the front end off. Just unbolt the two engine mounts from the bottom and make sure EVERYTHING is disconnected and go for it.

I disconnected that A/C line at the compressor and bent it out of the way.

Good luck...

that way might be easier if you have a lift and can leave the car on it.

pull it out of the front, dont disconnect the AC stuff at all, you can set it off to the side.

its easy!!

+1, out the front, thats the easiest way.

Whatever you do, dont try to half *** and pull it out with the cats still attached. Trust me, the angles dont work. As soon as you get the engine high enough for the motor mounts to clear the crossmember holes, the cats will be hitting the floor pan. I wrestled with this for an hour before I realized it would be easier to just unbolt the damn things.
