Group Buy ATI Procharger for 350z
Zland – The ATI is not quiet but it’s also not to loud. At idle it will have this faint noise and when you are under boost it will have a whining noise, but it is not an unbearable sound. This kit is also not smog approved in California yet. It is 49 State Pending on Carb. Approval.
I too am INCREASINGLY becoming more interested in this system!
Obviously my concerns are the usual: RELIABILITY & LONGEVITY...
Although........I just got off the horn with a mechanic buddy of mine who specializes in Sport Compacts, Racing, F-I, rebuilds, etc. and the whole 9 yards. I basically ran down the stats of this kit:
· Procharger’s new self-contained C-2 head unit
· Cast aluminum brackets
· Supercharger drive system includes all necessary belts and pulleys
· High flow fuel pump and FMU (Fuel Management Unit)
· By-pass valve
· Air-to-Air intercooler
· High flow air filter
And he was VERY optimistic about the install and durability due to the low boost. His only concern and one I forgot about was the "Fuel Management". As you know, we run a 'returnless system' not to mention this kit did not mention any type of 'timing' controls! So that would limit the system considerably if you wanted to get frisky and dial up or get on it hard regularly. BUT! He also stated that if the ECU/ECM could be 'flashed or reprogrammed' that would/could resolve that concern. And the obvious only other down-side of a centrifugal blower is the "build-up" of boost! It comes on as rpm's rise and thus peak hp/torque won't be readily available until the upper range... Where say a twin-turbo could give you max-boost as low as 2,500rpm and keep you there on up to redline.
But hey, for 4 - 5k and another 1k labor (as oppossed to probably 10k at least plus labor) I AM VERY, VERY Tempted........

TXSTYLE – This is why Procharger came out with two types of systems. One is the compete system for those who do not require fine tuning and the other is the “Tuner” kits for those who seek their own fuel management and tuning. The Tuner kits sounds like what you are looking for. Since the Tuner kit does not included any tuning accessories like the FMU and fuel pump you can pretty much build your own Fuel management system. You can get a larger fuel pump, larger fuel injectors, a boost retard box or better yet a custom chip flashed. This will fine-tune the s/c to your car…so that’s why it sounds like you might want to look at the tuner kit instead. Also, one reason why the timing control is not really needed is because this is intercooled boost. Superchargers tend to run cooler than turbo’s and with the s/c and the intercooler it will not make as much heat than the turbo setup will. So less heat means more timing and less timing that needs to be retard under boost. But, yes a twin-turbo setup is very sweet, but as you and I know it is very costly, esp. when there is a limit of boost you can run on a stock bottom end. All-n-all the s/c is just a more sweeter deal, don’t matter how you look at it.

In your humble opinion, which setup would be more or less reliable/durable? The "pre-pckg" deal or "tuner" with beefed up internals?TX
The kit is going to fit the G35 and it will have the same part number. When ordering you must state which car it is for. Procharger is actually going to fit this onto their vehicle this week, so the group buy will be for this car too.
Well, I called ATI today. They are taking it to smog it this week but it takes a few mnths.she said it shouldn't be a problem, all their street applications pass.when you start changing the injectors smog becomes an issue.seems like this group buy is too good to be true.the lady who helped me said this is introductory price, and expect the system to raise in price significantly.with the group buy it seems were going to save 1g, which she said is unlikely.
if everything is as it seems lets do this

Credit Cards can be taken, but the pricing will be a little different. The Teir prices are for Money Order, Cashiers Checks, and Wire Transfer. A slightly different pricing will be for Credit Card orders.
New info on the group buy
Due to numerous requests to purchase with a credit card there is a new pricing structure in place for the ATI procharger Group buy.
To receive the new prices DO NOT PM me. Please email me at
englishj@interfold.com
In the subject line please type in the words ATI price
You will receive an automated reply with an attachment which that describes the new pricing structure. If you have other specific questions, do not put those words in the subject line and I will reply ASAP.
All rules still apply about republishing the prices on public forums so please don't do it.
This is my attempt to automate the process of getting prices to users.
Thanks for everyones support and have fun with your SC's if you decide to purchase

Thanks for everyone that made this possible. Tier 1 pricing is still in effect and the offer is expiring on Monday 6/30/03. If the other buyers on the list commit then tier 2 pricing should be available. We will find out on the 30th.
I'm a total n00b when it comes to modding cars, but I've been reading alot of these threads as well as other information out on the web and am strongly considering a kit like this. But, I think I want to wait until the kit has been proven reliable by the early adopters. So my question is this: do these kind of things typically lower in price as time goes on? I probably wouldn't have the spending money for a 5-6k kit + install for a few years anyway, just wondering if I'll be missing out on a once in a lifetime deal here.
The supercharger is at an introductory price, which is for a limited time only. After this introductory price from Procharger expires it will be around $500.00 more. I'm thinking it will last a month or two.
Someone asked what the price was on the tuner version of the Procharger kit. I seem to have lost the message, sorry whoever it was.
The price is $300 less than the regular kit and yes it can be included in the group buy.
