Um thats an understatement...........

They call me today after talking to their ultimate tech support line or whatever and the guys is like um you have a choice:

We still dont know what is wrong but you can either have us order a new BCM ($550 w/ install) or you can have us remove the entire wire harness and look for a problem.

WTF!!!!! I am not supposed to have to choose. Nissan is supposed to know how to fix their **** when it breaks. Nvm that its not under the "drivetrain" warranty which lasts for 60k miles.

Nissan of Enterprise can suck it. As far as I am concerned they are the most inept people I have ever dealth with. Never call back when they say the will and have wasted 4 days of my life to ultimately tell me they have no clue what is wrong and that I have to decide how they can "try" and fix it.

FU$K THEM.

 

i dont see why when people try selling them, they dont get them removed by a legitamit shop and have them document whats included and what is needed. i would pay the extra money to have a legit show inspect it than having a box of random **** for 4k

Wrong. It completely depends on who you bought them from. I sold my APS twin kit to Todd and my TN ST kit to another forum member, neither of which had any problems (to my knowledge).

I bought my kit used off of a member here. It is being installed at PF now. I was weary of buying a used kit myself, but after speaking w/ Jeremy @ PF I decided to go for it. The kit was there and Jeremy assured me it was in good shape. I did however only put a deposit on the kit until it was installed to insure everything was in fact there and nothing was broke. If a turbo fails then that's not something that could he could have predicted. Hope all goes well, but I think I made a good choice.

 

You will be fine with jeremy doing the install and tune.

I bought a used Greddy TT kit at a good price, and ended up having to rebuild the turbos. I think the most important advice is to have the manufacturer's installation instructions with parts list and parts photos available, and compare them with all of the seller's used parts laid out in a photo.

Only a few studs were missing from my kit, but a few of those Greddy parts are impossible to find, i.e., double-ended stainless studs with differing thread pitch on each end. I also quickly learned that end-user support from Greddy is non-existent.

I would suggest that if time is a factor, don't buy a used kit. Everything has worked out with my kit, but I had to do a tremendous amount of searching to find equivalent non-Greddy replacement fasteners.

 

Great post above and it is critical to go over the checklist and make sure everything is included. The main expense on used kits is the turbo rebuild for the most part however having to replace say the downpipe and or fuel parts ( injectors , Fuel pump ) also can be pricey. I'm sure there are tons of good honest members here but on the flipside there is a lot of shady encounters also........

 

in the process of returning one right now as it was diff than stated in the thread i bought it from. buy from a dealer/sponsor!

 

Greddy turbos are notorious for grenading/coaking/failing unexpectidly.

This is a story from the sellers point of view.

I had greddy kit on my civic, took it off and sold it about a year later. When i took it off, it was working flawlessly - had been since day one. No shaft play or anything. It was removed by a mechanic and then another person installed it. He rang me up saying the turbo was squealing. I said that it sounds like the bearings, and asked if he installed the oil feed/return/blocked. He denys any wrong doing. Anyways yeh, this guy ends up having to rebuild it, blaming threating to off me for selling him a dodgy kit.

Great Info... These types of threads are absolutely priceless for Newbs like myself to read just to reiterate the fact that everything must be present at the time of purchase and without seeing what you buy in person it's a toss up.

 

yeap.... this always depends on the seller... I sol dmy TN kit a while ago now to a member from the site, everything went hassel free

 

... ah i just bought a used power enteprise kit... from GT motorsports??? I hope everythings there etc..... :-/ someone re-assure me someone!!! haha
