I say the best mod would be Cams & smaller pulley.

I'll plea the fifth ... (but leaning very strongly towrads a Vortech/UTEC combo).

I...
a)...don't with to blow a 5 figure sum on a built motor
b)...run a 5AT with ashorter gearing (6MT pumpkin conversion)
c)...went over 120 mph maybe like 3 times in 5 years
d)...more attracted to autocross as opposed to drag racing
e)...am not going to buy a set of r-comps each year, the only Vortech car I rode in spun tyres trough the first 2 gears on 19" wheels w/285 mm rubber (stock final drive too). Just how much more torque does one need?

Need I continue?

My only complaint about the Vortech cars is the way they sound. Noone would call me sart if I blew several grand extra just to get a better sound from the car.

sounds like a vortech would meet your goals and suite you well. still waiting to get my Si trim vortech setup back from GTM. it was supposed to be just a tune but we had belt snapping issues. it is looking promising for 470 to 480 at the wheels and around 410 rwtq on 100 octane. just need to get the cog belt to stop snapping!

Ambitious!
Me personally, I will likely finish up the tranny work (installing paddle shift next week, VB, cooler, etc), put on a fresh set of rubber, throw on SPL parts, Cusco RS diff, etc. Spend some $$ on real driving lessons and then I'll have a better idea as to just how much power I really require to be fully satisfied.
The final choice of FI setup will be determined then.

When they are finished there will be an updated thread. It is not that far off though.

The one pictured is the Powerdyne impeller similar to what is in the works.

I will be testing it on my personal car.

Got RTV on everything needed now. Intsalled the headers tonight and reinstalled the clutch. New throw out bearing and pilot bushing.

Ordering new tranny fluid and a a-pillar gauge setup tonight.

I am going to reinstall the radiator/alternator/power steering/transmision/driveshaft/exhaust/testpipes this week. should be taking it for a drive NA this upcoming weekend and then installing the UTEC/650cc injectors/fuel system and going for broke once the piping is made.
