I'm doing the TN installation this weekend, just kind of worried about the a/c line issue. Can I just hold my breath, undo one end of the A/C line and run away for a bit? haha. then just come back remove the other end, install the new one, start it and then pull it into the garage, then just get one of those refill canisters from autozone?

He's in NY we don't need that state.
Extra heat wrap the lines.

Best to just take it to a shop, have them recover all the refrigerant. Do your line swap, take it back for them to evac and recharge it.
The only real accurate way to refill the system is with an AC machine...judging how much the system is filled by the pressure in the lines isn't very accurate at all.

alright, i'll take it to a shop. But on a side note, I do know about global warming, my job is to invest in renewable energy developments. I also certify projects for voluntary carbon credits, so I'm sure that I have offset any a/c that I leak, as well as the emissions from my car, what about you? Its pretty easy to by CO2 credits if you are interested in being carbon neutral.

I'd say just let it spray wherever.
I also run my car with no cats, and dispose of my used motor oil in protected wetland areas. Green FTL!

this may seem strange but i heard if the conditions are right, r134 can explode when combined with oxygen from the air, not likely, but possible. I don't want to take the chance and grind through.
$95 is the best i could find, whats another cnote haha, this build gets more expensive everyday.

I don't know how true it is. But the shop that did my AC recharge told me that on newer cars, it has environment safe charge put in them now days. Wouldn't matter if it was released or not.

But, in the case of refrigerant from one car, it really won't make any sort of difference considering that the same car is running very rich with no catalytic converters.
I find it interesting that anyone from a performance shop is making environmental arguments, especially one that tends to install a lot of street illegal mods and pollutes the atmosphere with the contents of blown motors. Polluting the environment is your livelyhood.
