Default Raptor BOV install?

So I just had my TN kit installed last week. I've noticed that I don't hear ANY blow off sound at all! It seems like there may be a line that isn't hooked up.... Looks like there an open hole with threading.... Look at the pics I added. Is there a line missing??? Any help would be appreciated

Ok, I'm not asking whether I should buy another BOV valve or not... I've heard this BOV on other Z's and I like how it sounds. My QUESTION is if this is MISSING something?? NOT if I should buy a different BOV.... So, is this installed correctly or is it missing something??

The BoV looks fine. Where is that vac line routed to? Also, you have to be in boost before it will actually open. Are you making boost properly?

maybe your open dumps are too loud to hear the BOV

I'm not sure where it is routed... But how do I "properly" make boost? I mean, when I'm at WOT and release the gas I don't hear anything (but the open dumps make everything hard to hear. Haha)

I mean you could have a vacuum leak I guess, which means you wouldnt be making much boost to the intake manifold. That line should be running to the intake manifold. Did the shop you got it done at get to look at it, or did they say anything about the blow off valve?

Well, my vacuum sits at about -20 at idle.... But I can hear a LITTLE LITTLE bit of air releasing when I release the gas in boost... I mean, it could just be that the catless exhaust + open dumps makes the BOV hard to hear... But I'm hearing more of the FLUTTERING more than anything... They said the BOV should be fine... But I'm bringing it in to the shop tuesday to make sure of everything....

Your BOV looks fine, Your car is not making enough boost to sound like a evo/sti's when your releasing the gas. My car runs strong and I can barely hear the BOV when I release the gas, unless you shift hard while on boost then you'll hear it.

Yeah, unlike some OEM turbo cars with small turbos, you wont be able to hear it just revving it. If you're at full boost you might hear it and you might not depending on some factors. I know that mine sounded a bit louder with my vented hood and the BoV being right there. Now that my Godzilla BoV is located by the front opening of the bumper it's really loud.

I'd really have to see/hear the car to tell you if its normal or not.

As far as the fluttering sound you describe, I'm not sure what that is. I'd have to hear it.

I'm in the Riverview/Brandon area so on the other side of town. Maybe I'll check out the car sometime.

Oh yeah. I know... My WRX was running 20psi and the BOV was pretty loud. But my buddy with an 03 Z has a TN reflash and the Raptor BOV and his is CONSIDERABLE louder than mine... My only concern ISN'T to get a loud BOV, I just want to make sure everything is good to go, ya know? If need be, I may just change the BOV later. But for the meantime I wanna make sure everything is running good

Taurran, with the boost your making now, you dont need to have a vented hood to hear that

The fluttering sound his getting is more likely due to overly loosen spring rate inside the BOV.... you can see it from the pics that shiet is like almost falling.

Chris, adjust the screw on top of the BOV and screw it clock wise to tighten the spring rate to get rid of the fluttering sound. It should be around half the treaded your showing now on the first couple of pics. G/L

Maybe someone with a properly operating Raptor could count the number of threads that are showing on theirs so he could match it up? I would but I don't have a raptor BoV.

Chris play with the adjustment on the BOV and that should do it. The Raptor is a universal part so it's not preset for any application. Also check where you have the line going to the intake manifold and on the BOV the TOP PORT is all you use and the bottom port leave it open.
