Default Problem with APS xtreme fuel sytem

A few weks ago one of the pump in the Kit with probably 1000km on it packed up resulting in some melted wiring and a melted fuse.

The problem was traced to a shorted out fuel pump ,this was replaced with
the pump from the original APS fuel system.

I have done +- 100km and the problem seems to be back stalled one the highway after a few jerks while on a down hill. The car started up after about 15min but the fuse blew after 1 km, replaced the fuse with a 10A (normal is a 25A) and drove another 1km to get home and it looks melted but fuse is not blown.

Has anyone else had such issues with a twin pump set up?
I am at my wits end as APS says that this has not happened before and clearly do not warranty their product?
Any advise will be appreciated, do you guys think that this could be a fitment problem?

I saw that before on an early kit over a year ago, there is a small mod that needs to be done to the pump, IIRC it didn't siphon from the driver's side properly so the pump ran dry and blew the fuse, happened twice on the same car before figuring it out.

yup it does appear that a pump may be running dry.

anyone heard of this and know of the fix?

if it is that because it is an older one, get with the dealer that you bought the kit from and tell them you need the fix, it is a plug and some instructions if memory serves me right

I had the same problem. My car was being tuned on the dyno for break in. It ran 2 days on the dyni without any problems, than suddenly one pump breaks down. I replaced both of them and everything is working fine, but I havent driven very far (200miles)after that incident so I hope it stays fixed.

I am also going to replace boh the pumps and hope that it solves the problem.

It is just so strange that APS say that this is the first that they have heard of the problem , strike 1 for being so unhelpfull.

I need to have this sorted out asap and get the car to the dyno for some tuning hopefully now that the cams are dialed in (many thanks forcefedZ and Hal) we can push for 600hp.

Thanks to all for your inputs

I haven't had any problems (knock on wood) with the fuel system other than a nasty leak from a clamp that worked loose.
