Greddy TT install, questions...
Hey all, I bought a Greddy TT kit and I am just wondering about the install.
I had an 11sec civic that I pretty much built myself so I know what to do and whatnot. But I have been hearing mixed things such as to pull the motor out to install the manifold, turbo and wastegate. I was just wondering on peoples opinions on the install? Is it possible to install uynderneath the car? Able to get at all the bolts?
Any pointers would be great.
Thanks

I just wanted peoples personal experiences on installation without pulling the motor out.

so what's with the attitide then? you claim you don't need the instructions, but you do want advice from people.
That's a bit contradictory, IMO.The greddy instructions do suck, but they do show you the proper order in which to install everything. If you are going to tackle an in-the-car install, you'll need to do everything in the right order.
also, you are going to need to have alot of "odd" tools to accomplish the task. either that, or you'll need the ability to custom make some tools. I have almost every imaginable metric set of sockets( deep, shallow, 1/4", 3/8", etc), extensions, swivels, wrenches, crows feet, etc........ That being said, I was able to install the kit with the motor in the car and was able to get all the bolts snugged up too.
I just installed a TN kit, and while I know thats different than the Greddy, I was definitely surprised with how tight everything is on a Z/G. I, not unlike yourself assumed it would be like working on any other car, I've worked on RX-7's, my roomate's supra tt, and various other cars. About half way in, I could not believe what I had gotten myself into haha, if you have all of the proper tools (i.e. crow's feet and swivels) it is a lot easier, but still fairly difficult due to the fact that there is barely any room for piping and turbos in our engine bays. From what I've read, it is definitely possible to install the greddy kit with then engine still in the car, but most people that have done it more than once just go ahead and lift up the engine to make it easier. And like what was said above, it is very different than working on a civic. And for god's sake, make sure you check every part number and make sure you have everything that you think you should have before starting.

but yeah, thats for the opinion thus far. Still contemplating on whether to tackle the install or save the hassles and sell the kit lol
I just completed putting the Greddy kit in my car. I did it on a lift but with the motor in the car. If I had to do it all over again I'd definetly pull the motor, actually I'd probably sell half the things I own and pay some one to do it! LOL
I've turbocharged a Maxima, a small block chevy, and done just about every thing you can imagine to a ton of DSM's including a complete all-wheel-drive swap into a fwd but this was far more of a hassle.
It can be done; in fact people do it everyday, but don't put a deadline on it because it'll make you miserable if you do. If you run into any issues let me know; I took a ton of pictures that may answer some questions.
Good luck!
