oh the positive side, Ill see you guys in 2 months with 500whp with my TN kit.

I've turbocharged a Maxima, a small block chevy, and done just about every thing you can imagine to a ton of DSM's including a complete all-wheel-drive swap into a fwd but this was far more of a hassle.

It can be done; in fact people do it everyday, but don't put a deadline on it because it'll make you miserable if you do. If you run into any issues let me know; I took a ton of pictures that may answer some questions.

Good luck!

You on the org?

OP: Just drop the motor, doesn't take but an hour and it makes installing the kit a lot easier.

Heh, seems like there are a lot of A32/A33-Z33 converts around here. Some J30s too, but who cares about them My car is currently being a POS, but now I have the right shop to do a VQ35 swap at...

Take the 5 minutes to pull the harness from the body, disconnect a few ground cables and the alternator harness...good to go. Harness comes down with it.

That's the thing with pulling the engine control harness from the body rather than from every individual hookup on the engine itself; it's ridiculously easy. ECU and two other connectors, pop the grommet out underneath the battery cover, and it all slides right out.

More than 5 minutes, true...closer to 10 to remove the battery cover crap, the lower dash panel on the passenger side (makes it easier), and all of the ground wires. Still far easier than pulling the entire harness off of the engine, and makes for less of a chance of somehow breaking/destroying some of those hard to reach connectors in the engine bay.

500whp isn't an option on the TN kit..... sorry! Your going to have to trade the TN kit in for another setup like the rest of us did.

are you serious? this motor has to be ripped apart. from the timing chain to the little bolt behind the flywheel. Im not taking out a motor and puttin another one in. Im taking out a motor to build it and then its going back in.

Whys that? turbo is rated for around that much power, bigger wastegateand couple of other things, i should be there. If there are honda civics hittin that with single turbo, i can hit that no problem. lol

The downpipe is only 2.5". It doesn't flow well enough. My car stopped making power @ 5200 RPM with only 470whp. As you increase the boost the peak power drops in RPM unti lit's pretty much eseless. The point the Tn kit starts getting ugly is about 410whp. After that your looking at powerband issues. There are a few of us that tried to get close to 500whp and in the end all of us traded up to the Greddy TT. Now it's all sunshine!

Wow... that's pretty impressive. I wish I had my dyno to post up from Sharif's tune. It didn't look anything like that. Sharif's tuning put my max power at 470whp @ 5200RPM and power fell off rapidly after. This car has cams though, but it shouldn't make that much of a difference.

Sharif seems to put alot of effort into some tunes he does and less into others. I was less than happy with his last 2 tunes he did for me. The Turbonetics and the Greddy.
