For anyone who has FI...when people, whether tuners or general public, ask you what the horsepower is that your Z/G is pumping out, what do you quote them? The estimated crank HP or the actual RWHP?
I tell them whp and then depending on their knowledge may help them understand how to compare that with manufacturer's stated numbers.
EX: "The car has 375 horsepower at the wheel. That's basically the same as an Enzo or 750 horsepower at the crank!"

+1 I know average people don't have a clue about WHP. One time this kid came to me and ask about my car, when I told him I'm pushing around 360-370 he asked me why gain only 60hp over stock

the people who don't know much and only understand crank hp, I'll give them a crank hp ballpark estimate.
for people who understand dynos, I'll tell them a whp number and the type of dyno etc
often, I'll just tell them both ___whp which is probably around ___ crank hp

ok kinda off topic but how would one determine crank HP if they have F/I?
i always thought it because wheel HP is abt 15% less thn crank then you would get your WHP, which is 85% of your crank and well:
WHP/85%*15%+WHP= Crank HP

WHP.......but most FI guys tell little white lies about how much whp they really have, for example the video of that jack *** from down here in Florida with the fake blower sticking out of his 350Z hood. Thats a classic.....

hahaha
(some things are off of a dumb mustang "GT-R" owner...haha)
if its someone that has no idea wtf they are talking about i will estimate crank.... like at the bar with a noob i will just say my car has somewhere just under 650hp.
if i am talking to a car guy, i skip the BS and go straight to whp.

Yep. If it's a person that knows about cars I give them the WHP number. If they are only used to seeing power numbers on TV commercials I estimate crank.
I usually just tell people "enough to be quick".
I usually just tell people "enough to be quick".
I remember when I was on the stock motor another Z owner pulled up beside me at a traffic light and we exhanged words. He asked me how quick my Z was I said "It dyno'd 235 to the wheels" He goes "Oh yea? My Z makes 287!!"
