Default vortech supercharged.. now exhaust??

i have been looking for exhaust for a while now.. and found an HKS locally.. i been reading alot about what exhaust to get for Forced induction.. so is it even worth it to get the HKS?? would i gain any power?? i understand the 2.25 piping is too small.. but is it worth buying?? hes trying to sell it for 850 in exchange with a stock exhaust.. which is kind of expensive considering the exhaust was used for 20k miles correct??? there is no way i would lose power getting this exhaust right?? any input is apprecatied.. thankss

The HKS has a 2.36 inch pipe not 2.25, however 2.25 is ok for a Vortech. You will have less top end power but better low end power. I think 2.5 would be best. I have a Borla and plan on keeping it with my Vortech.

Look into Fast Intentions. It's 2.5 inch piping and works awesome with a Vortech SC.

That does seem expensive since he wants a trade for your stock. I run the HKS w/Vortech. Put down an altitude corrected 404hp and 336tq @6500 w/ the 3.12 pulley. I'd say it flows pretty good and the numbers are right on par with all the other results I see with dynos for Vortech setups.

If you have it....install it . A dual 2.36 inch exhaust will be plenty for the power you are running with a Vortech

Fast Intentions also makes a 3" dual exhaust called Dominator.

^^^ ya but no one has it. and its $$ compared to stuff a lil smaller like the greddy. if FI made test pipes that tapered from 2.5 to 3" to match the exhaust, i'd be on that combo in a minute!

I went with the APS exhaust and made 398whp and 335ft-lbs on the 3.12 pulley. Anyone out there with the 3.12 pulley without an exhaust upgrade? I guess you can take an average power difference and see if it's worth the $$ to get an exhaust system.

Had JIC single 3in Semi TI on the vortech Z...Noticed it didnt have much power down low....Once i switched to the HKS TD felt more torque at low rpms and the top end felt the same.... Best exhaust in my opinion for S/C application

I got the Stillen TD on mine and the numbers I put down are on my sig. I made 427hp and 360trq with DynoJet correction.
