Mine is 3.5 and scales down to 3" There is no performance difference. The amount of air getting pulled into the charger is not going to be hindered.

I hacked up my Injen CAI to build mine. I don't have any pics though.

none of these look like cai's for the vortech. They just look like the filter placement for the single turbo setups, which are not "cold air" setups. If you want to see a true CAI setup for the vortech check out gtm's thread featuring their recent build of a 500 whp car.

why not?? The filter isn't located in the engine bay so it's not pulling hot air into the intake. My filter placement is very close to where it was with the injen CAI, but a little higher because of the intercooler. Anyway the real benefit on the vortech is ease of cleaning the filter.

what did you use to cut the bumper brace? its just cut in the back to fit the extra height on the IC, right?

Are you still using the stock charge piping?

I disagree. The place you pointed out on the G is the same place that the ST kits on G35's usually route their intakes, but both spots are "cold air" locations as they are both before the radiator.

I think you're disagreeing just to be disagreeing, because both achieve the same results.

Either way, I doubt if youll see much of a gain, if any, by rerouting the vortech filter.

My friend actually cut the brace for me @ his work. I just marked off where to cut it. Yes, its cut to fit the extra height of the new i/c. Yep, still running the stock i/c piping as well.

Also, today we just made another intake setup for the vortech on my brothers car. It is a more "cold air" type setup since we have the filter located right next to the intercooler. Here is a pic of it.
