How to build a custom Turbo kit
I want to turbo my 04 350z an dont wanna spend $4,000-$6,000 on a kit.I know someone that can do the v band an bend all my pipes mandrel bent.I was just wondering what turbo Do I get to put on the car I am having trouble on finding which turbo is good for the car.I don't want alot more power I just wanna run about 5psi if that just to give a little more kick.Anyone have any info please help me an if you have pics much appreciation.Thanks Justin.

Why do you say that.I know all about turbos lol just new to the 350z.The piping is all set an the intercooler is good its just the turbo I am stuck on.

put your flame suit on son..
my quick advice.. look at the Major turbo kits and copy them if you want custom.. either way its gonna be more than 4K !! about 2-3K more

It shouldn't be that much The pipes an intercooler are all set.I have to get a fuel pump an injectors plus the utec to thats it so it can't be more $2-$3k more.

How is this flamage.This is a real questions so how is this a flame thread.Sorry I wanna do things a little different then you.I like doing things different so if you dont like it tough ****.I just want some answers to my questions.I am anot cheap I just wanna be different an say hey guess what this is what I am running an be able to help other people out.

At least u can turbo yours, i have an HR and it blows, probly gonna do a RB26 swap this winter, thats gonna be hard to do but im ready for the task. Buy a turbo kit, it will be well worth the money. Before I get flamed, i know the rb26 is AWD so im taking that out and replacing the oil pan with a rb25 and running a rb25 trans.

As far as the OP asking about building a turbo kit... If you don't even know about turbo sizing then you probably shouldn't be building a kit. You'd get a better response if you did your own research and if you needed opinions, present a few turbos sizes that you think might work.

Not bad, but really in turbo sizing it should be turbine first then finding a compressor to match. 
Not that I think that's a bad choice in turbos (depending on turbine housing). I think it would work well.

Some estimated the cost well near 50,000 with labor and fabrication to do a swap like that. Don't like the numbers? turn up the boooost! You have to look at the potential, not the numbers they got on one car...

Ok, so you don't want a fabricated turbo kit, but you're willing to fabricate a conversion to an entirely different motor with a totally seperate transmission?
Also, How do you figure the HR Greddy TT would have a 'bad hp rating'? If they use the same turbos as the DE kit I would assume you could make well over 450whp (maybe even 500whp) on a stock HR and well over 600whp on a built motor. Also, you can run an HKS turbo kit and have someone mount an intercooler with piping and easily have a baller custom turbo setup with great power potential.
It's easy for any shop to do... certainly a lot easier than swapping in a 15 year old motor with less displacement.
