I had to cut my crash bar on the inside of it to make it fit. Had to notch out the outside where the InterCooler touches it to make it fit. But after doing that I was able to retain the crash bar and not have any issues with it rubbing on the intercooler. Powerlab didn't send me a template so had to do it by sight.

The manual that came with the kit said to refer to Template. But as mentioned above there is no template. So you have to do it yourself.

I used a jig saw then grinded the rough edges down.

congratulations jeffie...absolutely one of the best threads on the forum....great job! your car is super clean....one of my favs.

i am thinking about getting this kit now, especially after reading this thread and the fact that my warranty has expired now.

do you think that the rear end gearing change is a must with this kit or can you get away with stock?

also, did you do any internal mods to the motor?

No internal mods, if I can keep the power I have now and never blow up the motor I'd be sooo happy. I really don't care to make more.

As far as the rear goes. I never had a before, however with colder weather both 1st and 2nd can easily get you sideways. with stock gearing I bet it would be fun, but a pain.

Love this thread! Jeff thanks for proving it could be done. I know the hard work and patience was worth it.

Look for me to join the ranks soon.

I think I already know the answer to my question. Does it start with an "H" and end in "altech"?

Seriously! I can't wait to post my story up soon. UMW350z, are you going to post up a video clip of your car after the tune? What kind of numbers are you going for?

Whatever it makes, it makes. Chasing numbers can lead you to the poorhouse. I am having a before-after dyno pulls done....I really want to see where I am now and where I end up.

I'll be taking some vids when it is done
