Default Injector size ???

My car was set up with RC 1000cc injectors. Thinking it would run better with smaller (510cc(?) injectors. Cars making more power then mine have smaller injectors. What gives?

Runs fine except for-sometimes idle cycling, terrible gas milage, very slight hesitation when slow accl for stop, black/gray haze observed from behind car during hard acceleration.

VQ engine, JWT (530 turbos), fuel return stm, cams, rods, pistons, HKS V-pro, F-con eng. manag. w/knock amp, ~ 450 whp, 10 or 14 psi boost.

RC Injectors aren't the best choice. Go with a Denso brand injector. ~600cc should be fine.

Do you have problems with start up? Do you have to hit throttle at start up?

few start up problems...during cold WX it will tend to die & if hot on hot day will take ~ 5 seconds or so of cranking and some times a little throttle to start. Generally I don't touch the throttle during start.

JayZ your start up problem is utec related. That's just how the utec is, because they released it with promises and never followed thru with them.

Default used Denso injectors

I would be interested in your friends 650cc injectors, with the following two questions- 1) Is it possible that these too are too big? and 2) if I am going to invest the time & expense of changing them out what about Nismo 555 injectors? this is what JWT uses...also, what about install issues. *I plan on doing these myself...what would be*easier*to put back in once the RC's are taken out?

Well the Denso's are a direct replacement for your OEM injectors, no modification needed at all. They ran on his car with a VPro like a stock car, no start issues, no stalling, You wouldn't know it was modded if it wasn't for the loud supercharger lol.

BUT, Since you have RC injectors your injector harness has been modified, so you would need a new OEM injector harness.

Default injc

Any idea on price of OEM injector harness?

How are Denso's better then other's...RC's (Why are RC's getting bad rap?). I am still wondering why I have such big injectors (other than future pwr increases) and why am I having issues...the brand or the size or both???

the way my car is now more power would just lite up the tires more...no point

Bro.. You may be 100% correct!! I thought the RC high impedence inj was the prob, because i never had this startup bs with 440cc inj.. WTF..

I have HKS 1000cc injectors, and my car idled like stock. But HKS injectors are made by Denso, which is one of the largest fuel injector (among many other OEM parts) manufacturers, world wide.

Basically, RC injectors are all modified injectors, have a horrible spray pattern, and are often referred to as "garden hose" injectors. The atomization is poor, and the bigger size RC injector you get, the worse the problem.

I would guess and OEM injector harness is sub $100, call your local Nissan dealer, or check with any online vendor.

I might also add, that the tuning should be checked, as that could also be making the problem worse, if not part of the problem.

We have brand new denso connectors with pig tails. Save you some money over buying a harness from nissan.
