greddy tt coolant reservoir location
Hey guys for those who are curious about other nifty spots for the coolant reservoir i wanted to post up some pics of where we placed it.
when we did the greddy tt kit installation we didnt like the location of the coolant reservoir. it cluttered the engine bay quite a bit.
we decided to look for other locations. as you all know the greddy kit tends to take up quite a bit of room within the engine compartent. We decided to place the coolant reservoir in the passenger side battery location. If you look we ended up buying the braille lightweight b2015 battery (160 dollars). We went to checker and picked up some j-hooks. We drilled the battery tray for the new hooks and re-used the factory engine tie down. we also modified the tie down slightly so that it has solid contact with the battery. There are a few tabs that we did have to cut and weld to get it just right. Now the battery does not move at all. As you can tell we used the brakets that greddy had supplied and chopped off the upper portion and mounted it to an existing hole. We just nut and bolted it in. If you can tell we have a clear tube that is coming out of the top that is our overflow. It routes all the way to the front fender so coolant will never stay within the battery location. Hope this helps out anyone looking for a better place. the only thing we really needed to do was drill a hole into the sheetmetal and place a gromet to ensure that it would not rub off.
you can also barely see on the left hand side all the different controllers and such.. we have the map sensor / boost controller / boost guage electronics on the side so everything is well hidden..
hope you guys like the clean install.
