Supercharger at altitude
Hello,
I am 4,500 ft above sea level. I am down about 15% hp/tq due to the thin air. It really sucks. When I go down to sea level it is so much faster. How will a supercharger be affected by this altitude? Will I need more boost to compensate? I have heard that being at 4,500 feet is like being negative 2psi boost. So if I buy a procharger, I would need a pully that generated 9psi at sea level which would be 7psi at 4,500 feet? Does this sound accurate? And what about fuel requirements? Would the engine run rich because of the lack of oxygen? Thanks!
