Default Ck eng lite/service engine soon light...ON!

built mtr, JWT 530 kit, hks v-pro, test pipes...runs very rich...

"service engine soon" light is basically on all the time...is this normal??? The shop that did car says its is...get over it, it can't be helped. I think this is wrong...bad Juu Juu...if car is tuned properly with $$$ v-pro this light should not be on unless there is a problem.

+ I need to get buy gov. emissions ck soon. This will be impossible.

Should I get ECU reflash, HKS redo, Stillen Hi-Flow cats, new injectors, new tune???

you have to find out what the code is for to get an idea is it should be on or not

Rich codes...again and again. This is the car with the 1000cc/min injectors. Should not the V-pro be programmed to understand the set up ???

if it is rich and yours is an 04 not 04.5 then you should not get the code, I have Fcon with 1000cc injectors and not codes, so it is not the Fcon but the tuning

In most cases, running a standalone EMS will trigger a CEL since the factory computer is not seeing any responses to the adjustments it is trying to make to fuel and timing, since it is not in control. It thinks something is wrong and throws a code.

Our GTM ECU Flash removes the codes caused by running a standalone EMS but leaves the others intact incase there is a real problem, you still get a CEL.

My mother had a '97 Escort whose "Check Engine Soon" light came on early after she bought it new. We NEVER took it for a check up; it NEVER broke down; it NEVER developed a miss; it NEVER gave us ANY type of trouble! I was told by a DIYourselfer friend that it's a gimmick by auto manufacturers to
charge fees for "computer diagnostics", & other "maintenance checks"...Bogus
stuff, guys!!! If the car feels O.K., DON'T waste a penny at the stealership!!!

makes it impossible to make it past emissions though for guys that have to do it if a code is showing. go buy a cheap code reader and figure the codes! many people on this site can tell you what it is and how to fix it after that.
