Default Vortech Revup & Non Revup

i have a 5AT g35 running stock vortech revup s/c setup

i have read about the pulley size difference and the cog pulley...

is there a difference in the vortech unit itself?

and do i need to change anything to make the setup better?

The mounting bracket is different from non revup to revup.

If what you have is a revup kit and you plan to mount it on a non revup motor you may have problems installing the mounting bracket onto your car.

So you have it up and running then? If that's the case never mind what I said. check the cog pulley on the blower itself and see if it's a 28 tooth cog, if not then change it to the 28 and that should increase your boost.

You have a non rev-up . Its has a 28 tooth cog blower pulley , a 32 tooth jackshaft cog , and a 3.33 serp pulley , or maybe a 3.12 serp pulley .

If you having trouble making over 7psi or better . Try buying a NAPA or Gates belt the same size as the stock belt . Make sure it tight enough .

hmm...

so maybe the previous owner ordered it with 34 tooth cog pulley ?! :S

so i have got 3.12 pulley, 34 cog pulley, dunno about the other cog pulley... i have headers, test pipes, borla catback... and am making ~8psi is that correct?
if it is, what do you suggest i should do to increase the boost ?

If you indeed have the 34tooth cog and the 3.12 , you should be making 10psi or better . You could have a slipping belt , or a boost leak .

in addition to all the breathing mods, i have a built engine, and ported and polished heads..
i think ~8psi is correct.. dont you agree?

it could still be a rev-up kit as long as the bracket was changed to a non-rev-up bracket... check the ss -box for two sets of wires not spliced... I believe the rev-up ss-box has 4 extra wires for the exhaust cams timing or something....

I made a DIY on a home made pressure test kit for the Vortech https://my350z.com/forum/engine-driv...-test-kit.html. Unless you have lower compression pistons I would think you would be more like 9 psi. You do have a lot of breathing mods though so 8 might be right. If I were you I would just go to a 2.78 pulley so long as you have bigger then stock injectors and a upgraded fuel pump. You should also do at least a utec if you go this route.

I don't think you have a problem with your kit at all... If it is a rev up kit than chances are your running a 34 tooth upper cog and a 32 tooth lower cog and if you are running a 3.12 serp pulley than your running the stock set-up for a rev-up on a non-rev up bracket which means your running about stock boost which your dead on.... and if you are running the 34/32 tooth cogs you could actually drop down to the 2.87 serp. pulley and be safe with a tune.... basically just check out your other lower cog pulley if it's 32 tooth than your running the s.c. stock and if it's the 28 than you have an issue....

I just recently converted my kit as well and I'm running the 34 tooth upper and the 32 tooth lower and I downsized the serp. pulley to 2.87 which is safe with a tune... it would be like running the 32/28 cog with a 3.12 pulley....

and I do think the 34/32 cog w/ 3.12 is a better stock set-up on the vortech than the 32/28 cog w/ 3.33 pulley

So basically your car is running right!
