Diff nightmare
Okay, here is what I have.
1. ATS LSD. Removed due to carbon build up from sitting for 9 months (don't get me started)
2. Manual Transmission Pumpkin. Damaged removing ATS/Carbonetics whatever-the-hell they call themselves LSD
3. Automatic Transmission Pumpkin. Bought to replace the carbon corrupted manual pumpkin. ATS LSD will not fit.
So I have everything that WON'T work together. I need solutions and for some reason, the people who sell Quaife, Cusco, and ATS can't tell me what those are. No one can give me a straight answer how to fix this. The stock LSD has disappeared since my original install tech left his shop. His shop doesn't have it apparently.
I want to sell the car. I'll buy a new (non carbon) LSD or a new Pumpkin if it will actually work. I'd prefer to buy the new LSD even though I am selling the car just so I know it won't rot the differential on the next bastard. Seriously.
If you want to buy it I'll ship it to you cheap. I'm sick of having a great car that has sat in various garages for LITERALLY 2 years and almost 9 months out of the 4 years I have had it. Has less than 15,000 miles on it. If I want to look at a car sitting in a garage it better be a Ferrari. And even then THAT is stupid too.
So what are my options? What LSD's will fit an Automatic Pumpkin? Are they available (I called Quaife distributor and Cusco. Quaife isn't being imported anymore and Cusco is "back ordered" 3 months. God knows if they'll ever actually be around again.)
I would appreciate any definitive answers people can offer me on this. I'm fed up and I just want to move on. If I want a track car, I'll build a track car. I'm done with making these kinda street car kinda track car things. I just don't have the time or patience for it anymore.
Thanks
~Josh

Maybe try PMing Helldorado for a solution with the existing parts you already have on hand. He has a 5AT and did a LSD swap and final drive upgrade using the 5AT pumpkin case and internals as needed from the 6 speed case to make it all work. Might be able to do the same thing, can't recall what unit LSD he had though........
Julian. I know... I was one of em
. I have a 6 speed and I was hoping to keep the 3.3 FD. That's why I got the Auto one. But now my ATS Limited Slip won't fit in the 3.3 housing. Rarghhhh!

Oh god. Say ATS and labor for original install was $1,600-$1,700. Then everything went kaput. So the new pumpkin was $380. If I have to get another LSD to fit in there we are talking anywhere from $800-$1,600 plus labor. If I rebuild the shot manual pumpkin and reinstalling the ATS I have no idea what that will end up costing.
This is a multi multi thousand dollars burned issue. I'm not pleased.
