Default Install vortech full kit

Mods on 03 Z
Kinetix V+ plenum
test pipe, + full exhaust..

mechanic just installed Vortech FULL kit (brand new)on my car..
he says the car looses boost and sputters around 4k rpm.

1.Is the kinetix v+ plenum compatible for this vortech kit? i think there is 1 less vacuum nozzle on it compared to stock? not sure anyway.

2.could it be the SS box connected wrong? is the diagram in the vortech install manual 100% correct?

help help help

Thanks

I would say vacuum leak some were. But let the Vortech guys chime in.
The kinetix v+ plenum is not a problem.

Check for vacuum leaks and check and make sure the belt is tight.

Pics might help with you vacuum lines.

THanks guys

SS box problem fixed.. no more sputter.. jsut no boost now..

he's checking all the intercooler piping and couplers now. and will test run it again..
he says the stock couplers are crap.. they are just BARELY fit.. so most of them he changed them.

Default A/f

Hey all,

Full kit is in and working..=)

question:
I have the AEM wideband hooked up to the Y pipe... Anyway.. The readings I am getting now is SUPER RICH... when im hard on throttle the A/F is like at 10-11..wtf.. is that normal for the full kit? Can the SS box be tuned? there is a serial port on the side of it.

cruising at highway speed the A/F is around 14.6-15.2 so that is normal I beleive but just when ur hitting it hard the car is super Rich.. but still.. runs mint..the car freakin goes!

Thanks

you want to be in the low 11's like 11.4 11.6 in boost. I am at 14.6 to 14.8 on highway or just going 40 mph. It's better to be rich than lean... I am not firmilar with the ss box.

The kit is rich untuned..You should get it tuned with about 11-12 A/F at WOT.The S.S fuel map can be modified but requires the R4 software. Take it to a tuner familiar with the unit.. At cruise the A/F is controlled by the ECU and those A/F #'s are normal..
