I would have adjustability for turbo placement to improve on the TN design and replicate the PL design.

How do I have no experience? I just said I made over 6 turbo cars all by myself. That is buying high quailty items and making my own piping. I built a 11 second EG hatch for under 4k, a 375whp FC for under 7k, and other custom turbos....so how can this be different?? I have built over 15 cars and 4 have been from the ground up. I have been tuning since I was 15 with Haltech/Electromotive/Hondata/Uberdata/Chrome/Neptune.

I do not think I am thinking outrageous. I build my own stuff because i can.
There are a lot of guys here who pay for someone to do their installs/motor builds/tunes and thats fine

But I can do the same thing for 1/5th the cost not because I have to but because I like to.
You have no experience with this application.... what you are talking about has been attempted before. I have yet to see a successful build like you stated... there is a rumor of a G35 owner that has a working setup, but I don't know the details of the build. I have been around long enough to see a few attempts with varying degrees of success (that term used loosely)

I am hesitant to even mention Tauran's build, but maybe try a search on his build for some perspective along with Quamen's build. Who knows, you may fall in the very small elite few that could pull it off, but if I were bet'n man, my money would be against you.

All that said, I look forward to seeing the details and progress of your build

thank you sir. I see where you where coming from now.

Yes I may be more inclined to just buy a kit outright, but I am tempted to do a custom build with a gt35r. See my fabricator friend has build a car by hand.

Let me clarify that statement. He bought a Ferrari Dino model, built a scaled version fuselage and then made an entire car body out of alluminum. He then made his own frame and control arms and ...well EVERYTHING. so we can say he is very rare and skilled. Seeing that he owes me and I have lots of thick stainless steel. I may just say...why not.

Or I may just spend the extra grand or two and buy a bolt on kit.

Here's the problem with your friend doing it or helping you with it, either you'll have to pay him for his time, or he'll do it when he has free time.

This means either $$$ or a job that takes 2 years if you're lucky.

You already have your mind made up; no need to try and convince us. Sounds like you have a lot of resources at your disposal so go for it

Best luck to bro. I had all the work done for free on my custom single turbo kit around the time that Eternal Motorsports did theirs. Even with free labor it ended up being expensive and it resaulted in a okay kit at best that had tons of issues that I didn't even guess would happen.

I still like the bolt on kit idea....but what have people done to overcome the heat issues with the TN kit?

I dont see many heat wrapped IC pipes...that may help...also maybe a new air filter location with a heat sheild if its drawing in such hot air??? I am sure someone has tried to tweak it.

I watched your vids Jeffie on youtube...I really like it!!! how much boost and power??

The heat issue with the TN kit has nothing to do with air filter location.

Heatwrapping the charge pipe will help, because it passes very close to the turbine housing. Also using a turbo blanket will help. Probably the thing which will be most effective at reducing IAT's is a water injection system.

We have also discussed other options like the DEI Cry02 systems... All of the info is in this forum, just search around a bit.

I have looked into that...just worried of running out. I guess there are warnings that let you know when your levels are low.

if you can weld and have access to a mandrel bender, there's no reason someone couldnt fabricate their own piping for a turbo.

The sheer amount of time of trial and error doesnt make that cost effective for most people. And running a chinese ebay turbo is a huge risk in its own right.

Sooner or later you might find one used, but it might take a few years.

TN kits are easy to find because a lot of people remove them to go bigger.
Powerlab kit owners will never have to do that. You'll just have to find someone who is about to install a kit then knocks up a girl or something, then has to get cash fast, maybe just maybe if you're lucky....

for what it's worth, I bet I could part out my PL kit and get at least 3+K for it, selling it as a total package should bring in at least 5000-5500 used.

Was this the car that crashed in RIC? The one that caught one fire and the guy died in it?

I think your right... I believe he is referring to the guy that had the Powerlab Kit installed, and the mechanic was test driving the car and crashed.
