Default Help with coolant.

Alrigh today i finished my block and everything is done. All i had to do was hook up the radiator hoses and add some coolant and whatnot. HOWEVER, i have never done coolant before. I went by the Service Manual but i tried that 3 times and i cant do it. My heater doesnt blow any warm air and my car keeps overheating. I have no idea what to do.

Can someone please list the steps on how to refill your coolant system. Thanx

ps. i already searched but couldnt find what i was looking for.

Search for threads about purging the cooling system. they have detailed writeups, but most reference the service manual.

Its the service manual under EC-9. You wont have it under the owners manual.

One quick way is to jack up the front end, leave rear end on ground, and purge coolant

Damn dude I'm impressed wit your work lol. You got everything installed by yourself.

Look at the left side of the engine. There should be a plastic screw on the coolant hose left corner of the engine. unscrew it with the car on slowly don't let it come off it's a PITA to put back in... you'll probably hear some air come out.. you're burping the system..

Let it sit for a while.. rev the car a few times.. you'll know when you are done because it will start leaking coolant.. tighten it slowly so you don't strip it.. it's just plastic..

Do this a few times after you drive the car.. it will get all the bubbles out..

You should also squeeze the front radiator hose (fat one) with the radiator cap open (when the car is cooled down).. if you see air.. then you need to do purge it a few more times with the plastic screw.

Damn yo you gotta hook up the shop so I can do some work on my built tt too

Btw, this thread was created when i tired to do the coolant on the z for the first time. Z's are not easy cars but ive done it numerous times now and i went from 3 hours of doing coolant purging to 20 mins. I think i can blink my eyes and purge it now. LOL
