Default Simple TN turbo question

Today, i had my turbo in my hand and i tipped it over on its side and saw motor oil pour out the hotside exit, where the fan blades are. Now is that normal or did i bust a seal?

No that is not normal. You might have a blown turbine side oil seal.

Damn Damn Damn. I just got my motor built and now i run into turbo problems.

Now tell me this, can i buy the seal somwhere or is it better to just buy a new turbo. TN wont cover this under warranty because im the second owner, but its still under 1 year.

What do you guys recommend.

I recommend Deadbolt ... these guys are awesome. They can rebuild/fix anything. http://www.boostplanet.com/

Very popular in the subaru crowd (I used to own an STi) and never heard a single bad thing about them.

Not looking to spend alot of money, Especially on a TN kit. If i was gonna spend close to 2k, might as well sell the kit and go twins.

I guess it all depends on your power level goals. If you really dont want to go past 500-550 whp then just rebuild the TN turbo you already have. Now if you plan on going past 550 then you will need a bigger turbo. A GT37R should just bolt up to the TN kit piping (hopefully) and should be good for 700whp. I will be trying this in a few months and see how it goes...

How do you do that. And the wierd thing is, nothin poured out of the oil drain out the turbo. it just came out the exhaust exit.
