Actually alot of people weld cast iron exhaust housings to stainless steel v-bands all the time. It's difficult because people dont take the time to prepare the metals properly.

Question

same reason why people are using dual 3.5" downpipes into 3" exhausts at similiar power level.

WOuldnt 6 cylinders worth of exhaust need more diameter to flow than 3 cylinders (TT)?

QTP is the only way to go..and they are stainless. QTP's are the only e-cutouts that i've seen/used that don't die from heat soak. Plus in my case the cutout is going to be as far back as I can possibly get it so it wont get as hot as when most people do them right off the DP. I don't want the inside of my car sounding like a Cessna which is why im moving it so far back.

the gt35r numbers and i think the gt37r numbers are on a 3" DP with a 3" exhaust which was custom on the Intense widobody G.
If you wanna do something custom for 3.5" then thats better (bigger = good )

thats inaccurate, somebody has led you to believe you that you need 3.5" downpipes to get 700whp..., plus you are talking about tt setups.

the stock greddyTT kit maxes out at 700whp without havind to upgrade... again...bigger is better, but 3.5" dual downpipes for a TT kit and you are talking about an aps extreme or SP TT kitl, something that can push beyond 800 whp

haha not always better..for my power goal of 600rwhp i shouldn't need anything bigger than a 3.5" esp. with the cutout theres much less of a restriction.

I have my JIC SUS turbo piping no-resonator exhaust going on probably this week at work....I will take some vids when it is done...this seems like the most logical choice for this kit and it will have the least restriction (it looks like a continuation of the downpipe). I will do a pre-cat install vid them take one after the Vibrant cat is welded in for comparison

thats pretty much what a cutout would do...and save 1000$ on top of that..

I have a qtp cutout and its nice, loud and picked up 30+tq on the dyno. BUT it does leak, there is a flutter sound while gently accelerating over time(opening and closing it fixes it). I am frankly going to ditch the setup and get a real exhaust. anyone who wants to trade a stock aps external wastegate for one with qtp cutout pm me

the smaller ones apparently dont leak, but on a 3.5" i think there specs are more lax. honesly its not bad, less noticable then clutch chatter but still not perfect non the less. just being honest. really the only time i notice it is when i drive the car hard and then start it up. i think the force of the turbo on the small stock exhaust just is too much for the small motor that closes the cutout. pressures going to find the easiest way out and the stock exhaust is small

$600 for the all-stainless JIC...seems like a lot for a small piece of pipe and muffler. You could probably use a Nismo mid-pipe and buy a JIC or single can muffler for cheaper

Would a Nismo work well with a Power Lab Single? It's almost like a single exhaust. I'll be doing the PL kit soon, but I imagine that the Diameter of the exhaust is rather small. Something like a 2.5"

Nismo/Fujitsubo are 3" midpipe and 2.25" muffler-back. It's not too bad but the inner design of the muffler surely has some restriction. I think they'd be ok for a stock motor setup at moderate power levels. (under 410-420whp)

I enjoyed having the Fuji exhaust on my stock block turbonetics setup because I could hear the turbo spool really loud over the exhaust. The car put down 412whp with it on.

I'll be on a stock motor. I only really want 400whp max. I love teh sound of my Nismo with my HFC's. but I know Turbo quites your exhaust exept on WOT. Maybe I should switch to resonated TP's with the install?

At least the midpipe is usable. I'll start with the Nismo Setup and if anything I can switch out the Muffler for more powah down the road.
