For those of you running closed loop feedback w/ your standalone EMS, this is something to consider. Just cause you have gone cat-less doesn't mean you're off the hook. Hope those sensors are easy to get to!

Why would you run leaded fuel in your z anyways?

 

C-16 for guys who like to go fast on the track

 

Yeah well...if you run meth, the only difference c-16 would make would be the sweet smell and the light grey colored exhaust tips.

 

How about if you run nitrous and C16 and TT

 

C16, 110, or any race gas is ususally always the prefered method of octane over meth. Reason being what if something goes wrong with the meth pump....boom.

That c16 is pricey. I was at VP filling up on some 103 the other day, and I glanced over at the c16. That stuff was 14.95 a gallon.

 

I've run leaded through my car plenty of times. I've had no problems with my O2.

 

off subject but what size prostars/tires do you run? Im looking to get that exact setup.

Coulda sworn this was common knowledge. Every time I'm at the strip that's all I hear people say "that **** will kill your o2 sensors"!

Small price to pay...

 

+1 even my local shop don't recommend running pure C16 at the track or all the time since it will kill the 02 sensor overtime.

 

o2 sensors are overrated

 

What? No one ever volunteered that pearl of wisdom while I was in ear shot! I'm running cats anyway. I was just chasing down a CEL and came across that article. With the recent topics on closed loop tuning and widebands, I thought all you tree killers in this forum should at least be forewarned, just in case...

also softens your valve seats and does a few other things if consistently running leaded

 

Leaded fuel makes a HUGE difference in o2 sensor life. Too much heat will also damage them.
