I think the SS box and ECU flash are pretty good if you're supercharged.

Once you get into turbos where boost psi is not consistent at each rpm when you stomp on the gas in different gears at different rpms IMO the utec is a drastic compromise

SGP switched me over from the EU to the UTEC, car ran a lot better. I'm happy with it for about 2 years now. I'm pretty sure more than a few cars SGP tunes are done with the UTEC...

As far as Sound Performance(Spracing) they are a PROEFI dealer and probably rather just deal with that EMS than any other.
If you upgraded to a standalone (and I assuming you are eluding that it was a VPro) and you car did not run significantly better than with the UTEC, then your "tooner" doesn't know how to properly tune a VPro.

It is easier to tune a UTEC than a Standalone, unless you are baby fed some good base maps, make a few tweaks, and call yourself a tuner.

weird, i just spoke with them about putting the PL kit on my G.. I had specifically asked about the proefi and they mentioned they're credit me back for the utec.. but never said anything about them not willing to tune the utec at all..

btw.. if you're gonna say that sp doesn't know what they're doing, you're a fool.

no no, sorry. I worded it weird. They'd credit me for what the utec is worth and use it towards proEFI.. I'd still have to pay another 1k out of pocket. my bad

SP is a Powerlab dealer, and the Powerlab kit has an option of being sold with a ProEFI instead of a UTEC.

So basically, they add in the price of the ProEFI - the price of the UTEC.
