no kidding. where in mass are you from? we should all bring our z's out and take a spin around the city. my nismo kit is going on tomorrow. my stereo is being custom frabricated aug 5th -7th! after that....just waiting on the 19 inch gt-7's!

 

does it feel like the transmission will be able to handle the extra power with no problem?

 

A few responses to the questions some have asked:

1. The oil change is a break-in thing You do it at 500 miles and then every 6,000 miles thereafter. The supercharger runs a special oil that you have to buy from Procharger. Its quite thin and a bit green in color and the unit only holds a pint and a half or so. It comes in premetered plastic bottles. The supercharger has a small dipstick built into it to check the level. There is no filter, but there is a magnet built into the drain plug on the bottom of the unit.

2. Total price installed and tuned was around $6k.

3. It's still not ready to judge for total sound yet. I'm still at the bearing whine stage, but according to Jeff at Avalon the 1st install quieted down within the first 500 miles.

And speaking of stereos, mine just went in too...

 

One more stero pic. The sytem is built around the Sony 7700MDX head unit from Japan with a 10 disc changer in the glove box, a JL 450/4 amp, MBL QSD 216 component speakers, Boston Acoustics front ambience tweeters, an Eclipse 10" sub in a custom box under the strut tower brace and Audio Control 30 band EQs. The electronics are all hidden behind the driver in the Bose subwoofer space....

The intercooler looks like it is offset to one side. Is it in fact, or is it just a result of the camera angle?

 

Not yet. Frankly this is one of those things that the impact is so big and obvious that the numbers are more like a formality. I've spoken to Paul though and we are going to do it - just not in abig rush quite yet until things break in. Boost is 7 psi I believe - the way it comes set up by Procharger on the full kit.

It is slightly offset to the passenger side because the intake & output hoses come in from the drivers side. They dont show up too well in the photo because they are black, but they require a little room and that requires the intercooler be offset a bit.

I gotta hear the QSD's!!!!!! I have been contemplating MBQ's but everyone says they are too bright. Now I really gotta see this car. I'll be cutting off every DB I see in MA (of course I won't be able to catch yours).

I can't wait until next year!!! Hopefully i can get one for my G35 by then!! Or at least the Vortech will be out by then (hopefully with their SQ series blowers) and a little cheaper. 6K for the full install is a little pricey for just a supercharger.....

OMG. I don't know if I can take much more of this waiting! That Procharger has been quietly calling my name, but now it's getting much louder and less coy about it!

Yep, Mike at Clearcorners ripped 'em off. I've made him promise to black them out and do his LED magic on them and in exchange I wont prosecute

They should be back around the end of this week or early next week - and I can't wait to see them!
