Do you have to use a Vortech BPV with the kit

With the engine off, the BPV will be closed.
When it gets to about 6 - 4 inches of vacuum and up, it will close.
Just try adjusting the set screw all of the way out, until you don't feel it pushing on the spring inside anymore (it will show about 10 threads). Then you know that it's backed all of the way out, and there's no way you should get compressor surge unless the BPV is messed up. Mine is now adjusted to around 7 threads, like most people.
